Once again another Maxpedition product that really delivers on quality. Seriously if you have a multi tool as part of an EDC (every day carry) or if you need it to strap to a bag this is your ticket seriously. I bought this once the leather pouch my leatherman Charge came with finally broke. And I havery been very pleased.

PROS
+ This think looks and feels indestructible. The build quality is great.
+It is really flexible and can be mounted vertically and horizontally on a belt or maybe even MOLLE webbing.
+It stretches so the tool inside does not rattle around any. That would be annoying wouldn't it?
+It wasn't much bigger than the carrier that came with my Charge.
+Velcro strip is thick and won't come undone by accident under most circumstances.

CONS
-That ripping velcro noise every time you go to get your tool. But honestly there was no betier option with this universal design.
-Doesn't do laundry

Conclusion
For what I paid this was great. I honestly wear this little thing every day and couldn't be happier. It is a great replacement for my old leather one.

This is another great product by maxpedition. It can be attached to your belt or to any pals webbing vertically or horizontally. The single sheath works well for carrying small flashlights, multitools, pocket knives, and magazines. I currently use mine to carry my 4sevens Quark X 123^2, and I have also used it to carry my Leatherman Charge AL. Both of these items fit securely and give added piece of mind over the stock sheaths. Disregard the other reviews about this being the 21in. Baton holder, this is not it. This is a five star product all the way and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to replace their cheap factory sheaths for something better in quality and functionality.

Yes guys, here it is.If you want gear that works,& offers you it's dimensions, call on MAXPEDITION!Wish it was made here in the US,but a great product, for many things. This one currently holds my gerber multi-tool.Gerber makes a great tool, but their sheaths suck! And if your like me,& like nice equipment,& don't mind showing it off. This is the gear.Multiple ways of attatching it to your other gear, with a combo of options built in,nice heavy duty velcro,& elastic sides to fit just about anything,& keeps it snug,& secure.A little high in price, but makes up for it in construction, attatchment flexability,& looks great,& tough.Gives RAINE Inc. a good run for their money.

This is a solidly built sheath, but a few issues make it a functionally poor choice for carrying a multitool. To be specific, I am talking about carrying a Leatherman Charge TTI, one or two bit kit 'trays', and either an AA or AAA single cell flashlight, primarily in an indoor/office-like environment. Much of what I've written below is compared to the stock nylon Leatherman sheath.

The biggest fault is that when positioned vertically on a belt, the belt loop is closer to the center of the sheath then the top. This causes the Maxpedition to "ride high" - that is, the top of the sheath is just over two inches above the top of my belt and digs into my hip when walking or sitting. In contrast, the nylon sheath that came with my multitool has the belt loop at the top of the sheath, and so there is nothing above the belt to dig into the hip.

If positioned horizontally, the Maxpedition fits great and there is no issue with comfort. However, it is so large that it does get in the way of accessing my front pocket. Certainly this is something that could be worked around.

Carrying the Charge TTI with one bit kit is a tight squeeze, and when I put the multitool back in, I have to wiggle it (i.e. I can't just drop it in like I would want to). Adding the second bit kit tray makes this even harder. It's surprising because this sheath is so much bigger than the stock Leatherman sheath, but much of that extra size is the nylon.

On the plus side, the velcro on the front face is far better than that on the stock sheath. Fitting a flashlight on the side compression straps works well - it feels secure and is easier to take out than on the Leatherman sheath. I can fit either an AA or AAA single cell flashlight, in contrast to the stock sheath.

If you have a full size Leatherman such as the Surge I carry everyday, you need to buy this sheath. The factory Leatherman nylon sheaths are unfortunately not very durable, especially the Velcro. The actual leather versions with the snap don't have enough space to carry the bit kit and no side loops for the bit extender and the mini flashlight that I carry. I bought this hoping that it wasn't garbage and that my stuff would fit close to as well as it did in the factory sheath. Long story short, I am thoroughly impressed with everything about this sheath. So much so that I went to their website to look for other products to buy. This sheath fits the Surge and the bit kits like it was made for them. The two side loops hold my mini flashlight and the bit extender, and the thing is just amazingly well built. It's hard to really convey the degree of awesomeness. Just buy the thing if you have a full size Leatherman, especially if you want to carry the bit kits with you.
