A great set for Electronics!

I've bought about two of these sets, They are a great set of bits and screws and cover just about everything you could possibly need in a screwdriver set!

I use these for working on computers and other small electronics, it'll open everything from Cellphones to Xboxes, it doesn't come with any proprietary bits, so you may need to do some hunting around for those, but they should fit the screwdriver all the same!

The reason why I like this one better than any other, is that it'll fit just about any bit, it locks the bit in place with a collar, you turn and tighten the collar around the bit, thus securing it, which means that if I have a bit that isn't the same shape or size, it should fit, so long as it fits in the collar and isn't terribly small, it should fit!

Now, this is my favorite screwdriver set for electronics, but it has it's flaws.

First, the screwdriver is a little on the small side, I have very large hands, so gripping it is a bit uncomfortable.

Second, and this is a problem, is that the "Extender" arm of the set is *Required* to be used at all times. Otherwise, the bit will slip around and fall out if you put even the smallest amount of pressure on to the bit. This wasn't immediately obvious to me, otherwise it works great!

I would recommend this set if you just need a general purpose screwdriver set they'll fix up anything in your household! I wouldn't use them for Auto or Industrial things, but they'll last a few years before replacing, that's for sure!

Nice kit

I bought this kit because i was having problems opening my Nvidia GTX 580 Graphics card to redo the Thermal Paste on it. The screws on the graphics card are very small, and they have teflon tape on the threads, which made getting them out, difficult.

This kit has every bit you would ever need when working on small electronics. The screwdriver case it comes in is very nice, and you can even hang it up on a wall or peg board in your shop. The background plastic shell that holds everything in place inside of the case is made cheaply, but as long as you take care of it you should be fine.

It comes with a metal pole/bit holder, that is required to use. It has a place for the bit to lay down into and lock into place. Make sure you press the bit in firmly, it takes some force, to lock it into place. It's not magnetic, but it holds the bits just fine. The metal bit holder also serves as a extension for hard to reach areas. You can pull it out as long as you need then lock it down with the handle.

The only complaint i really have is sometimes the bits are hard to get out of the holders, but that's a good thing in a way, they don't fall out as easily. Overall i'm very happy with my purchase. 5/5 Stars!

You get what you pay for!

I bought this after looking at a few different small bit sets. The 300+ reviews were about 80% favorable so I went for it. That was a mistake. I should have paid more for a better set. First of all, unless mine is broke and I don't know any better, there is no stop point for the bits. Meaning if you put the bit in the driver it falls into the handle. You can tighten down the neck of the handle but only so much. If you any preassure on the bit when trying to use it, it slides in the handle. They do have an extention which you could pretty much slide into the handle and use that put the extension doesn't have a magnet in it and the bit won't lock into it so you basically can't use that at all. The pro for this one is there are a TON of bits but if you can't use them, they're pretty much useless.

Invest another $10 and get a good set. This one is a waste of money.

Not for heavy duty but...

This set isn't for heavy duty punishment, and that's fine; electronics is not that type of environment. I've used this set a bunch of times to take apart a Garmin GPS to fix a loose input connection. I've taken apart my 2010 13" Macbook Pro to install RAM. I've tightened eyeglass screws. The list goes on. This is a GREAT set to have in your tool kit whether you have immediate plans or having it just in case. This is a good "save the day" set. You'll be that guy that has the tools. Only issue is that it is bound to fail mechanically due to it's metal-on-plastic design. Like I said, if you use it lightly for electronics and small work like I have, you're golden. Mine shows no signs yet of failing.

You won't get screwed by this product

Honestly, I wish I could give 4.5 stars, but the tool set is a pretty solid addition for anyone looking to tinker around with their phones, laptops, or other digital devices, and I can't praise it enough in most departments. The case that everything comes in is a bit funky, however, and it's not solid enough for you to feel safe dropping something heavy on it and still expect your tools to come out unaffected, but not so flimsy as for you to want to throw it away immediately. If the quality of the case is something that concerns you, you may want to look elsewhere. But for most people, I doubt this is a concern.

Each screwdriver bit is not individually magnetized, so you'll have to rub a strong kitchen magnet against your metal bits each time before doing projects that involve tiny screws with the potential to get easily lost. Temporarily aligning non-magnetic metals to have a weak magnetic field is thankfully very easy, so this isn't a problem for people who know this trick, but not everyone is scientifically literate or inclined, so this lack of a feature may hurt some more than others. However, since I do have a lot of magnets lying around for me to use for this very purpose, this is a trade-off I'm personally somewhat comfortable with, given the low price of the set. Unfortunately, non-magnetized bits does keep this from being a perfect product, so I did take off a star, despite my workaround.
