Decent little set of tools. I'd buy another. No hesitation.

Decent little set of tools. I'd buy another. No hesitation.
I think this set of bits is going to work out alright for me.It is indeed a Precision set.I personally think the design is a little clumsy with the extension piece, but I still think it is going to serve the purposes I will use it for in the future. My only complaint is the plastic box that it is set in. To be honest, I am going to try to store it in something else. The way it is packaged in the yellow units is very nice and easy on the fingertips. Don't worry about whether any of the bits will cut fingers, they designed the yellow holding units quite well, the bits are easy to grab in-between the others on either side of the desired bit. The concern I have is with the plastic black and clear container: very poor design. But don't let that distract you from buying it. It is a good set. Others have posted very nice quality photos, as I have. Check those out and make your decision.I also bought the Boxer Precision set (look for it on Amazon.com also), perhaps they are a competitor. In comparison, I think being able to store the bits in these yellow units provides a greater ease of access and still contains them quite well when not in use.More than likely I'll throw out the clear plastic container and put the set in a cloth little Crown Royal liquour bag or something, I think they'll fit in there just fine.Made NOT in the United States of America, for your information. Also, I am duly impressed with the handle of the driver. It is sold as an inexpensive product, but when working with these precision screws that are on electronics, the handle of the driver isn't going to be put through very difficult paces. It will sit in the palm of your hand and swivel as you use your fingers to unscrew or screw the pieces into place. I prefer that design over the all-metal design of other Precision bit sets available on Amazon.com. This design is effective, maybe even ergonomic.I'd recommend this as a 'Buy It' product in the 'Burn It, Buy It, Trash It' scheme as used on Sound Opinions from WBEZ Chicago.Approved.

The main reason for buying this was because I've found myself doing a lot of iPhone and iPod repairs for friends and every time I buy a replacement screen, it comes with the smallest screwdrivers ever and while they do function, they are just too small to wield. They tend to hurt your hand more than anything else. With this set, you not only get a bigger grip, but a comfortable one as well. The spinning rear tip is helpful when the screwdriver is resting in your palm.

If I were to complain about this set, it would only be a couple of things. However, this doesn't merit a loss of a star because these issues are inherent to any multi-driver set you buy.

1. Even though the bits are the smaller maxi size, they are still too big for devices that have tiny screws in deep holes. Fortunately, this doesn't apply to iPhones (in my case), but I can see it being a problem down the road.

2. While you can easily place a bit directly into the handle and tighten it, you're likely to end up pushing the bit into the handle because the tightening screw simply can't hold it well. This forces you to use the extender piece, which is nice because it can be pushed all the way in to retain a shorter driver. The issue I have with this is that it's just one more step you take before you can start using it. But again, not a big deal.

3. The tray that holds everything inside this case is very flimsy and I can't imagine that it will last long. If it does break, you still have the hard plastic case, but the items will just be rattling around inside. This will not be a problem for those who plan to move the pieces into a bigger tool box/bag.

All in all, this set came in very handy with the 000 Philips driver that I needed and now it's nice to have the smaller Torx, Allen and flathead drivers too. If you're looking for super high quality, this may not be the set for you, but for under $15, this can't really be beat. It's still a very nice set for someone who fixes computers, small electronic devices and possibly even watches or eyeglasses.

The Maxtech 16521MX 32-Piece Precision Bit Set has become a go-to in my toolkit for everyday tasks. It covers a wide range of common screw types, making it versatile for household repairs and small projects. The build quality is solid, and the bits have held up well over time. The magnetic extension bar is a nice touch, though it could be a tad stronger. Overall, a reliable set at a reasonable price point.

Purchased a couple of these based upon the reviews here. I am surprised by the quality. The case is neat, holds the buts securely, and clearly shows the type and size. This is very helpful as some of these bit patterns are rather small. Here are a few facts that might not be clear:

1. These bits are made from 4 mm hex tool bar stock, not 1/4 inch bar stock that many are familiar with for similar tools. I thought this might be a problem, but I find the small bit sizes very appropriate for this format, and I prefer the smaller size.

2. A two-part driver handle is included in the set and fits nicely in the case. It consists of a handle and an extension. To use a tool, first insert the extension in the handle and tighten the knurled chuck. Fully extended, the handle is about 8 1/2 inches long. Fully collapsed it is just over 5 1/2 inches long.

3. The bits fit into the extension and are held there by a spring clip as a friction fit. This is very good as there is no magnetic action. One does not want to magnetize small parts. However, it does mean you have to push the bit in past its initial "stop" to get the friction to hold the bit in.

4. There are 3 bit trays in the set, and each can easily be lifted from the case and stood next to your work.

Another review talked about purchasing color-coded aluminum drivers from another source that fits the 4 mm driver format. I did this, and was most impressed with these tools also. The driver handle that comes with this set is quite adequate if you are ready to change bits as needed. The color coded handles are great if you perform frequent tasks that require say 3 or 4 torx drivers and you don't want to waste time changing bits.
