With clear wrap around coverings, these cases are perfect for disc storage and labeling. Poster art can even be made for movies. The only problem comes when shippers do not pack the cases securely enough to keep all the cases in good condition. Sometimes one or two are lost to impacts to the corners of the boxes. Nothing to be done but toss the breakage. But for what they were designed for, they are perfect. These larger, thicker plastic cases are great and not so fragile.

Just received my package today, along with an order for the 50 Black Quad 4 Disc DVD cases.

For years, I have been using DVD cases bought from a failed Blockbuster store. Now that they have run out, I needed replacements.

As others have mentioned, these are made of thinner plastic. Not surprising, since my Blockbuster cases needed to be rugged through frequent handling.

The plastic sleeve on the outside of these cases feel a little thinner. They're also clear shiny plastic. The Blockbuster cases have a pebbled surface, presumably to be tougher to rip. They also don't show fingerprints, unlike these cases.

So for my needs, these seem to be ideal. I need to store my disks, and these cases might be opened once or twice a year, so I shouldn't have to worry about the plastic hinges wearing out.

The only concerns I have and I will have will be how these cases are shipped. It sounds like you'll be paying your money and taking your chances. These Maxtek cases were packed in the same large box as the 50 Black Quad cases, with brown paper tucked in for padding. At some point, I think the box was dropped or slammed. The Maxtek cases came through fine, while two of the 50 Black Quads were split at the bottom. Not bad enough to throw away (I'm cheap), but annoying.

First, the cases are superb in accomplishing their primary purpose, protecting 2 DVDs from damage such as scratches. They open and close easily. They easily allow DVDs to be inserted and extracted. While in the case, the DVDs are held securely. Simply pushing the button in the center of the hold mechanism frees the DVD for removal. The outside of the case permits the user to easily and securely place a cover that allows the content of the DVDs to be clearly visible. I have been printing photos and inserting them in the crystal clear acetate external covers. The clips built into the cover hold them securely. These cases are sturdy, light weight, and a superb value. Highly recommend.
