For Jen Chandler, she career oriented busy woman, on a tight schedule, with everything timed and planned. Her biological clock is ticking louder and louder, reminding her she isn’t getting any younger, and her prospects for a baby isn't going to happy when a partner does not exist. She decides she will forgo the route of a partner and find a sperm donor to make her plans fall in place. Now, finding someone to fit her mold of the right Y chromosomes is the challenge
Logan Hardt, of Texas, is in Atlanta for the wedding of his longtime friend, and to help prepare the backyard for the private backyard ceremony. Encountering their neighbor, Jen starts this tale into motion, and with a rather comical beginning. Logan exemplifies the perfect cowboy gentleman. Jen finds him a fascinating oddity and inviting him to dinner. He doesn’t know he is being interviewed and playing twenty questions will come with an unexpected and shocking offer, sperm for her a baby, with no commitment.
The plot will take this tale on a roller coaster ride of shock and awe for both Jen and Logan. Getting to know each other, discussing what she wants and needs, and eventually sharing some painful parts of her past. Jen has many secrets, anxieties, and trust issues, and no family support from her career-driven parents. Logan had a wonderful childhood, a great relationship with his brothers, and his heart hurts for Jen. Can Logan help her heal and move forward? Will Jen be able to look beyond the pain of her past and take a chance on a future while learning to trust? Logan places a clause in the contract that calls for creating her baby the old fashioned way and together their intimacy sizzles on the pages. Sometimes you have to surrender control to move forward and find true happiness.
This is a very warm, sensual, well-written love story. The characters are easy to like and the storyline is unique. I thoroughly enjoyed this heartwarming novella!
Burke keeps getting better and I'm just saying glad to be along for the ride.
