X-Input mode sends inputs from both ports out as a single controller. D-Input does not.

WORKAROUND! Set the controller to D-Input. Open Steam Big Picture. Set the controller up. You'll fail the first time because each D-Pad direction registers two buttons. That's fine, just get to the end and save. Once you're done, go back INTO the controller configuration, and Steam will allow you to set one button at a time. That will fix the d-pad problem.

Some games (Under Night: In-Birth) will not accept the Steam input. There's an option under "Controller Configuration" in the Big Picture menu (Shift+Tab) that will let you set the "Steam Controller" to "Force". Set that and restart the game. I've now got 2 players working without a hitch.

Once you get your buttons mapped in whatever game or program you're using, the adapter works well. I haven't noticed any input lag that I can attribute to the adapter. The first game I tried, I felt I was getting lag, but trying out both an Xbox One and 360 controller I got comparable response. Other games have been just fine.

The main gripe I have with the adapter is that D-Pad presses get translated to both a button and POV hat direction. This can make it hard to assign buttons in some games. I had trouble with the steam configurator because of this. You can switch the D-Pad to register as analog X,Y axis but this may not be ideal for all games.

Lastly, I can confirm that as of 2-2018, the 3D controller still doesn't work 100%. The L and R triggers register as buttons, not analog axes.

Despite the downsides, it's hard to beat the Saturn controller for 2D control and it's nice to be able to use it on the PC.

The adapter is great, but PC's don't detect the ports on it as two separate controllers. This causes issues when trying to map input to things like my raspberry pi, since I cannot map the second port on it as another controller at all. Another Issue I have with it, is that it will freeze input sometimes, so I'll be stuck going in the last direction entered until I disconnect and reconnect the Saturn controller to it. This has only happened to me two or three times, but it's worth noting that it does happen.

Overall it's a pretty good product, but I think there are a few drawbacks that definitely need some addressing.

This product does exactly what it claims to, enables Sega Saturn pads to work as usb. The ONLY complaint i have is that pushing the dpad fires off 2 simultaneous button presses, a button number, and a hat direction. So far this has not been much of an issue in any games. Once set the controls work fine, and it does NOT do double button presses in emulators. However, if you do a configure all buttons at once as some emulators have, it will sometimes fire two buttons... so you have to configure them one at a time to do it right. I have absolutely NO idea why they felt the need to do the dpad like this, and it even indicates that is intended functionality, on the back of the box.

works as advertised - saturn controller now working in retroarch on PC (after some manual button mapping, which was to be expected). The Saturn controller is a great catch all "retro" controller IMO since it has 6 buttons on the face for arcade games/fighters, but also has shoulder buttons for snes games (and of course the greatest d-pad of all time).

Works phenomenally, I have noticed absolutely no noticeable input lag and I've been using this thing so I would be able to use my old Saturn pad for shmups on steam. Worked right out of the box and it feels so great to be able to play games like Blue Revolver or Graze Counter with the saturn controller. I absolutely love this thing, but headsup, (This is not the adapter's fault, but rather sega's) it will not work with the New Sega Mega Drive/Genesis Classics hub.

I can play Sega games on the Kega Fusion emulator or map keyboard commands to it using Xpadder for games with no controller support. If you want to get more use out of your Saturn controllers, this is a must have item. you won't regret buying it.

Fonctionne très bien avec 4 vieilles manettes de Sega Saturn. On peut en brancher 2 à la fois sur l'adaptateur et les 2 fonctionnent en même temps.
Testé et fonctionnel sur un Windows 10 Pro 64 bits (avec retro arch et divers émulateurs) et sur Retropie 4.2 sur une Raspeberry Pi 3B.
Bref, je le conseille vivement :-)
