out of the box set up was super easy, you select the frequency you want the robot to work (every day, every 2nd day or twice a week)and drop it in the water.
cycle is 3 hours and it seem to cover the entire pool.
it will climb on the wall but wont clean the water line (this feature come with the next model which was out of my budget).
the swivel feature is great! the cord wont twist and turn when the robot is cleaning so you dont need to untangle it.
overall quality seems to be very good (high quality plastics for both the robot and the control panel).
brushes are big and the sticky wheels help it get a good grip in the water.
this is my 2nd pool cleaning robot and it seems to be much better than the smart pool nitro I had before (which died after 2 years).
overall at this point I am very happy with the purchase.
The Dolphin has been running great for about 6 months now and I actually don't mind impromptu get-togethers because my pool is always clean! I store it upside down on a towel so as not to deform the soft scrubbers. It is a little heavy out of the water and hoisting it up by it's substantial handle, leaning over the side of the pool, and settling it into the water with a side-to-side motion to burp it, does take some arm strength. This little guy then goes off cleans our 18,000 gallon oval pool in about 3 hours. We have steps at either end and it seems to struggle a little with them but eventually figures them out. It has no problem with the raised child-safe drain cover at the bottom. I love the way it climbs the walls and pops out a little at the water-line gurgling with its scrubber still turning - scares the crap out of my cats.
You do have to clean out the filter, which is pretty easy. The filter is like very heavy bed-sheet material that fits snugly with elastic around a removable metal frame. I just hose it off inside and out. If you let it go too long it develops a lovely dead-fish bouquet. After a couple cleaning sessions my cord does seem to get a little wound up in circles in the pool so maybe something is not working right. But disconnecting and de-twisting the cord on the deck and reconnecting then all is fine again. I tend to leave mine in the pool to run once a day and then take it out on the weekends and clean the filter.
