We put the vacuum in every day and let it run when we are all at work or school. When we get home we pull it out and place it back in when we are done. So the pool will get cleaned typically twice a day. Most of the time I clean it out once a day and that is very easy to do. The bag that collects all the dirt reminds me a cloth baby dipper. To which I never used on my kids but have seen and felt a cloth dipper. But taking it out is simple, cleaning it out with a hose spray nozzle is easy, and putting it all back together is not a problem. There are instructions to take the screws off the top and clean out that part but after doing that a few times and seeing no dirt I just spray well from the top and be sure that all the grit and dirt falls out the bottom and there is none left. It's a little bit of trick to get the bag back on the bottom piece and if it's not in the right orientation it will not lock it but it's simple to take out flip around and lock it in. If you have a good routine and are anal about it it's very simple.
I would highly, highly recommend this Robotic pool cleaner to anyone. After owning a pool you start to talk to other about your pool and their pool and the joys and struggles and anyone that I've ever talked to I've recommended this cleaner. It's well worth the money and more, you will not be disappointed.
It does clean the walls but has problems the area of my pool where it starts to slant between the floor and the wall, until the slanted part gets wider. Also my corners are round and it doesn't get the wall in the rounded part.
It does not clean the stairs
Some (very little in the scheme of things) dirt does rush out when it's pulled out of the water
Very easy to use and clean
I've had it 2 months so far and use it several times a week.
UPDATED: My DX3 lasted 2 years. Considering we only use it about 4-5 months I find this poor. I loved the way it cleaned but it seems my motor has burned out. It could have been our fault, there is a chance someone (I won't point fingers) took it out of the pool when I had it set to clean automatically each night, therefore it may have run while out of the water unless it has an auto safety shut-off feature. I feel like it should have this feature and if it does then I don't have a reason for why it no longer works. I took it to a certified technician who would just say the motor was bad and the price of the motor would be similar to the price of a new cleaner.
