    I think this is my most watched movie. What started out as my favorite book series turned quickly into one of my favorite movie series. Of course, as a book reader, there is some difference in the movie that did not happen in the book that I wish they added but there are some changes that I really appreciated such as they kids did not speak the strange language they spoke in the book. Maybe they did not want the audience to be confused, but the acting is a 10/10 and I will go watch this movie 100 more times

    I have not seen The Maze Runner from beginning to end, but I like Dylan O'Brien. Was also looking for something a little more mature for my 13 year old to watch. He's not ready for R rated movies....I'm not ready for him to watch R rated movies either. It was a little intense and there was a lot of talking that didn't really interest him and confused me since I had not watched the first one. Overall though, the acting and action was interesting. Made me want to watch the first one.

    Maze Runner hatte ich immer als einfacherere Version von Die Tribute von Panem angesehen. Der Film hat aber auch seine eigenen Qualitäten.

    Thomas wacht in einem kleinen Lift, umgeben von Jungs auf. Er erfährt, dass er in einem Labyrinth gefangen ist, aus dem es kein Entkommen gibt. Thomas lebt vortan unter den Jungs und nach deren Regeln, ist aber nicht gewillt einfach still dazusitzen. Spätestens als ein Mädchen auftaucht, ist er wild entschlossen aus dem Labyrinth auszubrechen.

    Maze Runner schlägt natürlich in die selbe Kerbe wie Die Tribute von Panem, gehört aber wie Divergent zu den besseren Klonen.
    Maze Runner ähnelt storytechnisch fast schon komplett Panem. Jugendliche müssen, eingesperrt in einem Labyrinth, um ihr Überleben kämpfen. Klingt einfach und ist es im Grund auch, dennoch weiß man einiges aus dieser Prämisse zu machen.
    Zum einen wird das Labyrinth immer weiter erforscht und schön dem Zuschauer näher gebracht. Es ist nicht nur mit guten Effekten umgesetzt, sondern sorgt auch für einige schön atmosphärische Momente. Sowieso ist die generelle Stimmung des Films wirklich gut.
    Die Geschichte ist sichtlich einfach, enthält aber dennoch einige schöne Momente.
    Anders als bei Panem hat man hier aber insgesamt nicht so starke Charaktere. Dylan O`Brien (Teen Wolf) als Thomas macht seinen Job schon wirklich gut und kann seinem Charakter einiges abgewinnen. Auch Will Poulter (Wir sind die Millers) ist als Bully mal angenehm anders. Am meisten hat mir aber wieder Game of Thrones-Darsteller Thomas Sangster als zukünftiger Anführer der Jungs gefallen. Er hat wie schon in GoT eine faszinierende Aura an sich und bereichert den Film auf jeden Fall. Insgesamt ist mir auch sofort aufgefallen, dass man hier nicht die typisch durchtrainierten, blonden Sunny Boys vom Strand gecastet hat, sondern eher glaubwürdige, junge Darsteller. Diese sind auch größtenteils alle gut und sorgen für ein koherentes Gesamtbild.

    Fazit:
    Maze Runner schlägt in die selbe Kerbe wie Die Tribute von Panem, weiß aber durch eine schön dichte Atmosphäre und eine eigene Idee zu überzeugen. Definitive eines der besten Panem Derivate.
    Teil 2 kann kommen.
