Have You Met ROB?
The Power To Get It Done
Founded in 1943 by Robert McCulloch, the company has over 60 years of history in design and innovation of outdoor garden products.
McCulloch products give you the Power you need to get the job done.
Let ROB Do The Job - So You Don't Have To
New from McCulloch – one of Europe’s leading outdoor power equipment brands – the ROB robotic lawn mower is fully programmable and works day or night, rain or shine.
The McCulloch ROB runs automatically, based on your desired settings. By cutting the grass continuously, grass clippings are very small - so fine that they immediately disappear and quickly break down adding nutrients back into the soil, helping create a thicker, healthier, greener lawn. That means you can spend your time enjoying your lawn, not cutting it.
Included In The Box:
- 1x robotic lawnmower
- 1x charging station
- 3x metal replacement cutting blades
- 400x pegs
- 656 ft. boundary wire
Easy To Install
Simply lay a boundary wire around the edges of your lawn, and around any large objects and that will define the area where ROB needs to mow. The boundary wire can be pegged on top of the lawn, or below the surface to suite your personal preference.
ROB knows who's Boss
ROB is fully programmable. Tell him when to mow your lawn, day or night, rain or shine, at a time convenient for you. Go ahead and tell him to cut the lawn during the week when you are at work, or during the evening when you are watching TV. He never complains or needs a drink, just the occasional rest at home to recharge.
Slopes? No Problem!
The ROB robotic lawn mower can cut the grass, even if your lawn has slopes. It's high performance wheels and motor enable ROB to cut even on slopes with inclines up to 25%.
Loud Audible Alarm & Security PIN Code
1. When lifted, a loud audible alarm is sounded, deterring theft.
2. PIN code protected, the only way to turn off the alarm, or to change the robotic lawnmower's setting is by entering the correct PIN code. Without this, the McCulloch ROB lawnmower will not work.
10 Things You Need To Know About Mcculloch ROB
Yes, it looks good. Yes, it’s powerful. Yes, your lawn will look thicker and greener. But we bet there are some things you didn’t know it could do.
1. He’s Fully Programmable:
You heard us right. ROB is fully programmable, meaning you can tell him how and when to mow your lawn. You can get him to cut the lawn at night or during periods when you aren’t in the yard, ensuring that you can spend your time out enjoying the yard, rather than mowing the grass.
2. He Actually Feeds The Lawn:
ROB doesn’t collect grass, he simply trims the very tips of the blades of grass to create micro clippings that turn to mulch and feed the lawn – bonus! This makes the lawn not only greener, but thicker too. Best of all, because he cuts the grass so frequently you won’t ever see the grass clippings.
3. He Leaves No Tracks Or Patches:
Designed to adapt to various surfaces, McCulloch ROB cuts the grass in an irregular pattern, so won’t leave your lawn looking uneven or marked with track lines.
Unlike other robotic lawn mowers who can leave visible track marks when they follow the boundary wire to the charging station, ROB uses a guide wire to guide himself back to his charging station. He also is smart enough to change the distance between him and the guide wire as he follows it, to avoid producing track marks and worn areas of grass.
4. He’s Safe:
Do you have pets or small children who love to play in the yard? Even the most mischievous little ones are protected by ROB’s safety features. The rotating cutting blades stop immediately if the McCulloch robotic lawn mower is tilted or flipped over. And unlike other robotic mowers with fixed cutting blades, the pivoting design allows the blade to rotate inward if it encounters a hard object.
5. He Has Anti-Theft Features:
ROB is protected. He has his own unique PIN code and is paired to a specific charging station, meaning he will not work without it. If picked up, ROB will let out a loud audible scream to alert you to the danger, and requires entry of the correct PIN code to silence him
6. Rob Is Flexible, He Can Operate 24 Hours A Day:
Want to use your yard during the day? Or perhaps you’ve just seen the weather forecast and tomorrow it’s going to pour. Well, fear not. Tell ROB when to cut the lawn day or night, rain or shine. ROB is so quiet it can run overnight so you can wake up to a freshly cut lawn.
7. He’s Quiet:
Unlike gas or electric lawn mowers, ROB is battery powered and virtually silent. Meaning you won’t annoy the neighbors if you use it at night, and you can still enjoy the yard while he’s at work.
8. He’s Weatherproof:
Like most of us, ROB doesn’t like to work in the snow or during lightning storms, but he will happily continue mowing the grass when it’s raining.
9. He Docks Himself:
When ROB senses he needs to charge his battery, he automatically returns to the charging station.
10. It's Almost Too Good To Be True:
What are you waiting for? Fire up the BBQ and let ROB do the job.

Top customer reviews
There are only a few pieces to unbox. As listed in the description the box contains
1x robotic lawnmower
1x charging station
3x metal replacement cutting blades
656 ft. boundary wire
It took me about two days to prep the back yard. I had to place the boundary wire around the plants, border the patio, etc. to mark the sections that I did not want the mower to attempt to mow. The wire is placed above the ground using pegs. Did not attempt to bury it and don't know how deep you could bury it and it still get the signal to avoid that area.
While I was doing that I set up the charging station and got the mower charging. I placed the charging station on my back patio at a corner away from the house, and left a gap in the boundary wire only wide enough for the mower to get into the station, so that it could not come up on the patio other than to charge.
I had cut my entire yard with my riding mower recently, so my grass was already the height that I desired. So I cannot tell how the mower would have performed if my grass had been extremely long to start with. Now that the mower is running on schedule it keeps the grass short so no problem.
It is easy to program the mower using the documentation provided. I set my schedule for every three days during the late afternoon to avoid the morning dew and to not cut the grass during the full sun of summer heat.
My yard is very flat so cannot confirm performance on slopes.
Since I have my mower in the backyard fenced area, I am not so concerned about the security alarm, but I did test it. It makes a sound loud enough that I can hear it within my house if it is lifted off the ground. And as specified that only way to silence the alarm is with a PIN code. So if I ever decide to start using the mower in my front non-fenced part of the yard, I would feel safe doing so.
The mower is quiet enough that if we are sitting on the back patio the noise does not disturb us at all. We have several small dogs, so appreciate the safety feature that the mower blades stop if the machine is tilted or lifted. I don't have any large rocks or any large obstacles the mower could run over so can't and really don't want to test the feature that retracts the blades inward if something hard is hit.
I am glad that the mower can detect when it comes up against the wooden fence so I did not have to place boundary wire the entire length of my fence.
We have had several storms this week, so am glad the unit is weatherproof and that I don't have to continually go and get it out of the rain.
We had a robotic vacuum in the house that could hardly ever seem to find its way back to the docking station. This mower is much better at finding the charging station. So far it has found it on its own, every time.
Nice to have the replacement blades included. I have not checked how to order replacements, as with the original and replacement blades I think it will be awhile before I need them. Plus when I need to sharpen the original blades, I can put on the replacement blades and sharpen the originals, making them the new replacement blades.
I would highly recommend this mower to anyone who has a small yard to maintain (.25 acre) or just a small section you don't want to have to worry about cutting. Great product!
The instructions and video both suggest planning out exactly where you are going to run the wire before starting ... very good idea... you do not want to pull the wire up and start over!
This robot works great! It bounces around from wire edge to wire edge and eventually covers every inch. Any holes in the yard can cause it to get stuck so just fill those in as the robot runs into them. It is very quite. The chirp sound it makes when it is heading out off its base station is louder than the actually cutting. I now have a constantly perfectly cut yard.
Cons: The robot works in the rain, but I would prefer an option that tells it to go home when the rain starts. More splicers should be included ... if I had broke the wire one more time I would have been out of business until I ordered more. And lastly I cannot find anywhere on the companies website where I can buy replacement batteries.
I haven't set it up for him yet - it's still a bit early, But I did set it up in my front yard to get the feel for the setup and behavior. The setup is simple but it takes a bit of work. The mower itself seems very safe. Think a Roomba for your lawn. It isn't fast and it doesn't move in the normal pattern that a human would. If that doesn't bother you then things will be fine.
Setup requires placing a boundary wire around the lawn. The instruction suggests staking, but I suspect I will use a hand edger and bury it and inch or so. The mower likes to drive about half way over the wire before it notices the boundary. This means you need to consider this when placing the wire so that your flowers and plants aren't in danger.
* It's quiet (nearly silent)
* Setup is straightforward but requires a bit of labor. In my case, it will also probably require a lot more wire than the 600' included.
* It has security (pin based) which may help prevent someone from walking off with it. But we will be augmenting this with security cameras.
* It seems quite safe. We poked at it and it seems very difficult for someone to hurt themselves with this mower.
* It has a timer that allows it to mow your lawn unattended.
* Like a Roomba it will take a must longer than a human to fully mow your lawn.
* It draws people's attention. When testing this we had about 10 people who wandered by that stopped to gawk and talk about the mower.
* It requires maintenance (it needs to be cleaned periodically to work well).
I have high hopes for this. We'll see how it works out.
