However, it can be used to loosen stains from carpet, which can need to be dried by dabbing excess moisture with a towel. - If the steam output is weak, it may be because the water level in the boiler is running low, or there is mineral build-up in the unit. The first time we used it to clean our bathroom it worked flawlessly. No back breaking work required. It met and exceeded my expectations, and we spent the rest of the day admiring how clean the bathroom was. I was SO proud my hours of research paid off, and even recommended it to a friend. The room only required regular very light cleaning after that, so the steamer went in the closet for months.
THEN IT HAPPENED… it was only our third time using the machine, and the biggest attachment we used broke! Keep in mind this requires hardly any elbow grease like a mop would. The steam really does most of the work. That’s why we were shocked that this broke so easily. The hose “inside the floor attachment” became disconnected, and all the steam now shoots out the top of the attachment, making it totally useless.
There are many useful attachments, but this is the one you’ll likely use the most on floors, shower and tub bottoms, and large areas like walls. Of course it broke only 3 months after the 1 year warranty! It all looks good on paper, but I wouldn’t recommend it again. McCulloch should have had a great product here, but they skimped on quality BIG time with this particular attachment. We even took the apart and reconnected the hose, but that lasted all of ten minutes. Extremely disappointed. Yes, we had it over a year, but in the big picture it broke on our third use. Buyer Beware!
Pros - Heats up quickly, usually in under 10 minutes even when filled with ice cold water. It maintains pressure well even after extended use. Works great for sticky cupholders, gum, melted candy, tight nooks and crannies, carpets, fabric seats and especially leather seats. For most cars the hose is long enough to have the machine on one side, and easily reach the far side without having to move the machine. Usually one tank is enough to finish, but on especially dirty interiors you may need to refill. If you're careful and open slowly you can remove the water fill cap even on a hot machine, and refill. I'm sure this is warned against in the manual, but if you use a little common sense it can be done easily.
Cons - It's a little underpowered. More pressure would be useful when working on harder surfaces. It struggles a bit on on air vents, greasy seat posts, etc. The hose does not seem to be quite durable enough to hold up under heavy detailing use. When detailing interiors, you have to bend and contort not only your body but also the hand held steamer to reach all the tight areas. This puts a lot of bending and twisting pressure on the hose. After 6-7 months of use, the protective hose exterior failed right behind the handle. A few weeks later it failed again where the hose attaches to the boiler.
After reaching out to the company to purchase a new replacement hose, they informed me they would replace the entire machine completely free. After sending them the required photo, in just 2 days I had a brand new unit sitting on my doorstep. I was blown away by the responsiveness of McCulloch.
Overall, the MC1375 remains one of my favorite detailing tools and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase again.
Fast, consistent steam, and quite a bit hotter than less expensive units
Cleans most of what you'd expect, but you have to be realistic...if heat and water alone won't clean something, this won't either. It did knock out some serious shower stall gunk that usually takes a lot of elbow grease and chemicals to power through. So for 'natural' cleaning, it will do the job.
Comes with abundant accessories for most jobs (read related con below)
Availability of accessories is a positive (however, if they were quality, they wouldn't need to be replaced so quickly)
Easy to use and setup, you'll be using it within 20 minutes of it arriving, that includes reading the instructions (your mileage may vary)
Long steam hose
Long power cord
Easy to move around because of the large wheels and because it's not heavy or bulky
Easy to fill
Decent instruction booklet
Accessories are junk. i used the scrub pad one time and it is completely destroyed...using no pressure other than the weight of the wand and pad.
Cheap plastic on accessories heats up and loosens, falling off of the wand- The attachments will loosen up after using them for a while because the cheap plastic from which they are made expands with heat and will not stay on the nozzle.
No low water warning (just means you have to pay attention to the pressure and quality of the steam, but it would be a nice feature)
I went half in on this machine with a co-worker for cleaning our cars. if I had paid full price, i would have probably returned it. For what I paid, I will get use out of it, even if I have to modify the accessories or replace them altogether.
As a producer of abundant and high temperature steam, it's fine. Accessories bring this unit down. More attention to the accessories would make this unit more worthy of higher ratings. Cheaper alternatives have locking accessories which make more sense.
Time will tell if it holds up. I will follow the manufacturers directions and i will update this review if/when the unit fails or needs replacement.
I recommend everyone to use youtube and watch average people use this machine, NOT sellers or professionals as they can often provide a biased overview.

Generally does the job and the reservoir is large enough to let you work for some time. But overall, it feels 'consumer grade’. I guess it's appropriate for the price point relative to the ‘pro’ steamers.
A couple complaints: The two-section tube for using the floor mop attachment, or just for extended reach, is all plastic and feels a bit flimsy. It's actually an outer tube and a narrow inner tube (to keep the hot steam away from the outer surface) but after extended use, I found the inner sections of each tube liked to lock together and ended up pulling out of one of the outer tubes. I was able to get it back together, but now the section lock no longer works on one of the tubes, which means it doesn't securely lock to the floor attachment, which means I have to be careful about how I move it over the floor to avoid it pulling off the tube. Side to side movement works better now than back and forth, but due to the lack of rigidity of the tubes, they flex at the middle connection, making everything feel a bit too sloppy.
The small scrub pad attachments seem great in theory, but in practice disintegrate too rapidly.
The mop pads are held on with rows of plastic hooks on the base of the head. It works OK on smooth surfaces, but if there is much friction, you’ll find the pad edges rolling under. So far they seem to clean up in the washer OK.
It’s a fairly wet steamer. If it’s running and you haven’t used it for a couple minutes, or longer, chances are there will be considerable condensation build up in the tube that will shoot out in the first few seconds. Just keep this in mind and have a towel or something handy for the excess water. But once you get going, it generally maintains decent pressure. In theory you can regulate that aspect, but I found after about 5 seconds, peak pressure is no longer available and there wasn’t much point trying to regulate it (may depend on what you’re steaming).
Using an IR temperature gun, slow passes with the floor mop attachment results in surface treatment in the 70-80 degrees Celsius range. The ‘triangular’ attachment is also good at getting steam in nooks and crannies without too much pressure (that might instead blow away rather than kill pests).
All in all, it works OK but if planning to use this for extended and frequent cleaning sessions, some of the smaller annoyances might be sufficient to merit purchasing a more robust alternative.
1- be careful with the hose, it is very soft in material and gets even softer when steam is going through it. it could tear easily.
2- make sure you use distilled water, if you want your unit to last for a long time.
3- some water will splash out at the beginning (all steamers do that). point it away when you start so you dont damage anything.
I love this steamer. easily stored and comes with all the attachments needed for a car dealing and even more....and it looks nice too.
