- Reviewed in the United States on January 22, 2024Size: One SizeStyle: Ikeyni's BansheeVerified PurchaseThis thing is really ridiculously cool. The detail is great, it doesn't feel flimsy, and it's posable.
My only complaint is....I have absolutely no clue now to get this thing onto its stand. There's a spot where it can sit on the ball, and a super small hole beyond that. If you set it on the ball it falls off, but the ball is too large to fit in the smaller hole. My only idea so far is to glue it in place.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 14, 2022Size: One SizeStyle: Ikeyni's BansheeVerified PurchaseI got this toy as more of a shelf item for display purposes. The quality and details- down to the physical design as well as painting/coloring - are great. Can’t beat the price. Honestly I’m surprised it’s not more than $10 haha

- Reviewed in the United States on December 27, 2022Size: One SizeStyle: Ikeyni's BansheeThe detail on this figure is absolutely stunning, and the colors are so vibrant. I do wish there was more color detail on the underside of the figure, but it has some nice texture. The articulation of the wings was a bit more restricting than I thought, but it’s enough and they move quite smoothly. You can also remove and reattach both sets of wings easily. I’m not sure if the head is detachable because I’m too nervous to break it, but it moves very nicely. The media could not be loaded.
As you can see in the photo, the wing span is larger than my hand (excuse it being blue, I dyed my hair recently) and that’s much larger than I was expecting for $9.99. The plastic is flexible and sturdy which I like because I find hard plastic toys/ figures to be cheap looking, which was the only thing I was really afraid of.
The stand, SUCKS, which personally doesn’t bother me because I was planning on command sticking it to my wall, but the little ball doesn’t even begin to fit into the ikrans chest. If you don’t have a kiddo who plans on taking it on and off the stand you could probably use some standard glue to stick it on there, or just make a different stand. The base of it is also awkwardly large.
Anyway, I’m very proud to write this review and happy to say I have two more in different colors on the way. 10/10, absolutely beautiful.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 8, 2022Size: One SizeStyle: Ikeyni's BansheeVerified PurchaseIt was really good quality, but I had to use a hammer to put the ball top into the banshee. It was very hard to put in but, overall Good quality.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 4, 2023Size: One SizeStyle: Ikeyni's BansheeVerified PurchaseBut the first one i bought broke right away. So i got a replacement and the chest cavity for the stand doesn't fit the stand at all and I don't want to risk another breaking item. But it is super gorgeous and my favorite Avatar toy collectible yet!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 16, 2022Size: One SizeStyle: Ikeyni's BansheeAs an artist myself (I design, sculpt, mold and cast/make toys) some of my criticisms I'll be writing are just in case anyone responsible for production might read this, and give it some consideration. I am also keeping production costs in mind which I know about.
FIRSTLY, for those struggling with the display pole: ALL YOU HAVE TO DO is get a hair dryer, aim it at the socket on the dragon for about 20-30 seconds, and then firmly push the ball end of the pole into the figure. Let it cool off before posing, and there you go! Heating it softens the plastic momentarily, which allows the ball joint in. Nobody should be lowering their rating over this. It is designed that way FOR A REASON. If the ball joint went in too easy, it would constantly fall off the stand, and/or not hold it's pose.
CONS! (I'll get these over with).
1. Production really dropped the ball with the paint job under the wings, it's beautiful/stunning on top, then nothing on the underside. This is my reason for taking a star off. Hanging these instead of displaying them on the pole won't look good, and discourages posing them with their wings fully lifted, which decreases what you can do with these to build the "world of Pandora" which is being marketed to us with these small figures. I would pay $15 instead of $10 for a consistent paint job on the underside so I could hang these up. I was going to buy enough to have a flock how we see in the film, and now I probably won't.
2. They needed to add a gloss finish on the mouth, claws, and eyes. This is a painting technique that will bring a figure to life. This is used on many other toys, it's a missed opportunity here, especially for a movie praised for it's high art.
3. This is a suggestion more than a con, but by current collectible standards, many toys come with interchangeable heads. I'm miffed as to why these dragons don't come with an alternate head with the mouth shut. A bunch of these displayed together, all with the same open mouth, will look odd. Especially when a simple ball joint method is being used, it would be so easy to swap heads on these dragons, and they are so small it wouldn't consume much plastic. There are so many paint variations, and a closed mouth sculpt already exists on Neytiri's banshee, meaning there is already factory tooling for a closed mouth head piece. This would encourage people to buy doubles in the same colors just to have one of each color with different mouth poses. I am hoping in the near future they release more dragons with the closed mouth sculpt, I think it would encourage a lot more sales.
4. One more suggestion, would be to have a little belly plug to allow for these to be displayed another way without having a gaping hole in the stomach. Clearly though, these have limited display options since there is also no painted detail on their undersides.
5. My last gripe is that the wings seem to come off too easy. This isn't a big deal for me as an adult collector, but when I was a little girl this would have really hurt the fun for me having the wings constantly fall off during play. Keep this in mind if you're buying for a child who might try to manually flap the wings.
PROS!
1. The main pro here is the price for the shelf presence this thing has. You really can't beat this awesome little piece of toy art for $9.99, even though I would have paid more if some of the things I mentioned above were fixed. With prices rising so much on everything, this is refreshing! Yet it doesn't at all look cheap! At a glance this LOOKS more like a $30 collectible.
2. My crappy photos don't do this justice or truly convey the black light effect. The black light gimmick is a VERY nice touch they didn't NEED to do, but they did, and I LOVE that! Where there IS paint, the paint is amazing, and it's speckled with areas that glow a bright aqua color under a black light. What's interesting is the glowing areas cannot be seen in normal lighting, so it's an extra dimension of the figure you can only see under florescent lighting. The airbrushing also has a mild glow that pops under the black light. I used a small black light flashlight for my photo, but I think this will look even better once I turn on the full sized one I have mounted to my ceiling. The combination of the underlying airbrushing, and the intricate patterning is awesome.
3. This seems durable, the thin parts are softer plastic, so this won't be snapping or cracking if it takes a fall or anything, which is a big deal maker or breaker for me when I buy toys. I purposefully avoid fragile collectibles, so it's great to see this isn't brittle plastic or floppy rubber that will corrode.
4. It comes with a very classy little display (yet more bang for your buck), and once you use a hair dryer to properly mount the piece (let it cool for about 5 or so minutes before posing!), it's very easy to tilt the dragon at different angles. It doesn't seem to want to come off at all either, just use a hair dryer people, lol.
5. The sculpt is spot on. I have been sculpting for many years and I'm super picky about figures. This isn't a bland sculpt with an elaborate paint job, it's a nice intricate little sculpt, that ALSO has a great paint job (on the top, anyways). The little teeth, eyes, muscles, and texture on the wings are nice and intricate, not blurred like a lot of modern figures. I am assuming the prototypes were 3D printed from the digital film models, but they don't have that lame blurred look as some 3D printed toys have.
If you're on the fence, go for it. Think about it, you'll spend more on some fast food, which will be gone after a bathroom trip or two (lol), this you can keep forever as an awesome, colorful, little movie art piece. You're not going to beat the price, this is the best displaying figure I own for under $20 :).
