Product Description

The 1950s was a decade of change for the Dark Knight Detective, one that introduced new friends-and foes! These tales include the debuts of Ace the Bat Hound; Deadshot; the original Batwoman, Kathy Kane; Mr. Zero, who would go on to greater fame as the nefarious Mr. Freeze; the original Red Hood; and the pesky interdimensional pixie known as Bat-Mite. This was also an era of great inventiveness, with tales that revealed how Batman’s own father, Thomas Wayne, was once a Batman himself; how Batman became a Superman-like hero on the distant planet Zur-En-Arrh; the secrets of Batman’s utility belt; and the introduction of an all-new Batmobile

      ⭐ Overall Verdict
The McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse Batman & Ace the Bat-Hound (Silver Age) 7-inch Action Figure is a nostalgic celebration of the whimsical, imaginative era of 1950s Batman comics. With its bright colors, classic costume design, and the inclusion of Ace the Bat-Hound, this figure set is a heartfelt tribute to a time when Batman stories were filled with sci-fi gadgets, interdimensional imps, and loyal canine companions. It’s a must-have for collectors who appreciate the lighter, more adventurous tone of the Silver Age.

📚 A Tribute to the Silver Age
The 1950s marked a transformative period in Batman’s history, where the tone shifted from noir detective tales to more fantastical and family-friendly adventures. This era introduced characters like Ace the Bat-Hound, Bat-Mite, and the original Batwoman, and explored bizarre plotlines like Batman traveling to alien worlds or donning rainbow-colored suits.

This figure captures that spirit perfectly, with a design that reflects the optimism, creativity, and campy charm of the Silver Age 1 2.

      🧱 Figure Design & Sculpt
Batman’s Look: The figure features Batman in his classic blue and gray suit, complete with the yellow oval bat emblem, short-eared cowl, and a flowing cape. The sculpt is clean and stylized, evoking the comic art of the 1950s.
Ace the Bat-Hound: Ace is sculpted in a loyal, alert pose, wearing his own bat-mask and cape—a delightful nod to his comic book debut in Batman #92 (1955).
      Accessories:
      4 interchangeable hands
      Batarang
      Display base
Collector art card with character bio 2
      🤸 Articulation & Build
Ultra Articulation: Batman features 22 points of articulation, allowing for a wide range of poses—from heroic stances to action-ready lunges.
Ace’s Articulation: While more limited, Ace still has basic articulation for posing alongside Batman.
Build Quality: As expected from McFarlane, the plastic is durable, the joints are tight, and the paint apps are clean and vibrant.
      🎨 Nostalgic Aesthetic
Color Palette: Bright blues, grays, and yellows dominate, reflecting the comic book printing style of the 1950s.
Design Language: The figure avoids gritty realism in favor of a clean, heroic silhouette, staying true to the era’s visual tone.
Display Appeal: This set looks fantastic on a shelf, especially when paired with other Silver Age-inspired figures.
      💲 Price & Value
Retail Price: Around $22.99, which is excellent value for a two-character set with accessories 2.
Collector Appeal: High for fans of retro comics, Batman history, and McFarlane’s expanding DC Multiverse line.
      👍 Pros
Faithful homage to Silver Age Batman and Ace
Bright, nostalgic design with excellent sculpting
      Great articulation and accessories
      Affordable price point
      Perfect for retro-themed displays
      👎 Cons
      Ace has limited articulation
May not appeal to fans of darker, modern Batman interpretations
No alternate head or cape options
      🏁 Final Thoughts
The Batman & Ace the Bat-Hound (Silver Age) 7-inch figure set is a joyful throwback to a more whimsical Gotham, where Batman smiled, wore bright colors, and had a dog sidekick in a cape. McFarlane Toys has done a fantastic job capturing the essence of this era, making it a standout piece for nostalgic collectors and a charming addition to any Bat-collection.

Once upon a time Batman had a dog. Todd McFarlane, who is the guy behind all of these toys likes the history of comics-- so they decided to make a figure based on the Batman version who had a dog. You get a cool poseable Batman figure, with a neat paint job on the mask and trunks giving it a real comic style feel-- not quite 1950s as it's advertisted to be, but classic-- and a statue of a dog with a mask on it.
I like Batman, I like Dogs-- I don't know how this would hold up to play value-- I'm way too old to play with toys so this is a decorative item on my desk. But if you're one of them toy collector fellas then I think you'll be happy with it. The cape is cloth and it is wired. Comes with a bunch of hands and a batarang too.

Well-made with good detail and of course, there is Ace, which is why I bought this figure set. Nice depiction of Batman's Bat Hound.

This figure will go great with the Superman Silver Age I also got.
The packaging used for shipping was not ideal and the box arrived damaged. But as always, service support from Amazon was great!
If you like the silver age Batman, this is your figure!

Silver age gold. The Batman figure is awesome, the softgoods cape is great, the paint is good, the best thing about this set is ace it is his first time in the line and is rendered perfectly. If you are a Batman figure collector this will be a great addition to your collection.

I honestly bought this figure specifically for Ace the bat hound, but once I got the actual figure, Batman is very articulate and the sculpting for the figure looks good as well
As far as ace goes, he’s a basic dog plastic figure that doesn’t move, kinda like one of those child bags of zoo animals that you would get as a kid
