Really nice figure, it's huge and crazy looking! Very nice articulation, an excellent version of old Swampy!

It's the same figure as the original release with a couple of swaps. It looks alien (as it should) and is a great size. I feel like McFarlane could just go wild with this body and release a hundred variations the way they keep making Batman figures, but, you know a guy can dream and hope and wish. The fact we got THIS Swamp Thing is cause for celebration and consumerism. Do it. Click it. And maybe, I'll get to get more Swamp Thing variations. That would be very good indeed.

Punchy Fists are the best. Please sell green ones so that the swamp things can fight.

Think the memos got mixed up at McFarlane HQ. This fig is marketed as Swampy from vol. 2 #57, and bears “some” resemblance. But it’s really more similar to My Blue Heaven Swampy from #56. With the facial expression from the iconic “STOP SMILING” panel, and chest embellishments resembling #56 Swampy more, I wouldn’t be shocked if they release an edition with a blue paint job. Hate to see them swindle the fans like that, so we’ll just have to wait and see. Swamp Thing #56 is one of the greatest comics to see print, making this amalgamation, rather than a faithful reproduction from either ish, a major bummer.
Another note on the sculpt: this is the same body as the other Swampy mega fig with that chest addition slapped on. So McFarlane really missed the mark if they were, in fact, going for the red cactus look. In the comics he has the bristles all over including his legs/kneecaps. Seems rushed and it’s sloppy.
So yeah, WEIRD figure here folks. Giving it 3 stars because I absolutely love this era of Swamp Thing. Glad to own any piece of ephemera from that run. But Swampy fans BEWARE. It was poorly planned and executed.
Shipping note, per usual Amazon slaps figs unprotected in a box two sizes too big. So mine arrived with some dings and an odd smear. Just keep your fingers crossed it arrives in decent shape, it tends to be 50/50 box condition lottery
