Product Description

The only thing known concerning the Dread Pirate Roberts is that he never leaves captives alive. It is revealed during the course of the story that Roberts is not one man, but a series of individuals who periodically pass the name and reputation to a chosen successor. Everyone except the successor is then released at a convenient port, a new crew hired, and the former Roberts stays aboard as first mate. The constant reference to "Captain Roberts" establishes the new Roberts' persona. After the crew is convinced, the former Roberts leaves the ship and retires on his earnings. However this iteration of Dread Pirate Roberts is really Westley, who inherited the title after the previous Dread Pirate Roberts retired. Westley had grown close to his predecessor after he was captured while searching for his fortune to return to Buttercup. In an attempt to help him achieve this goal the Previous Dread Pirate thought this position would help Westley achieve his goal.

      This McFarlane Toys The Princess Bride Inigo Montoya looks very precise and looks very much like he does from The Princess Bride movie. It is one of our favourite movies to watch and this portrayal of Inigo Montoya as an action figure really does him great credit. Everything about him from his wavy dark hair to his tan shirt and boots looks exactly as he does in the movie. The people ay McFarlane Toys did their research very well when designing him.

      I love these action figures! I have a few of them, now, and am not disappointed at all. Westley has decent articulation, his features look like Westley, and he comes with his sword and a stand that will help you pose him in more delicate poses like running and stuff. I use him in a dollhouse saloon along with other characters from Princess Bride, the Witcher, Back to the Future, etc, and use them to represent different old west type figures. For example, I made a BRUTE SQUAD badge for Fezzic and gave him a cowboy hat and keys, and he is the sheriff. Since Westley is in his mask, he is going to be a bank robber sitting in a jail cell. Buttercup is a dancer, Doc Brown is a piano player, Marty McFly plays poker, etc. Lots of fun. This figure is very poseable and works well for creating different scenarios.
