However, all is not lost.
What this book is, is a nice little history of the McLaren M23 Grand Prix car. There is good historical information including views from former drivers, mechanics and current owners, chassis history and race results. There are enough pictures to make it useful to the F1 modeler, although, I was hoping (as the sub-title suggests) for more detailed photos and drawings.
Overall, I don't think one would go wrong buying this book. I like it and it is a nice addition to my library. The only problem that I have is in the way the book is misrepresented as a "Haynes...Owner's Workshop Manual".
