"I can't recommend ME AND BIG JOE highly enough. It is a beautifully realized American miniature--nearly as scary as Melville's white whale, fully as grotesque and funny as a Fellini dreamscape and as exhilarating as Bloomfield's best solo." -- David Armstrong, AMERICAN JOURNAL
About the Author
Michael Bloomfield played with Bob Dylan, The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, and the Electric Flag in the 1960s, and on record and film soundtracks in the '70s. He is one of his generation's foremost blues guitarists.

This book is not necessarily a novel more than it is a collection of short stories. Bloomfield is no author and he would have benefited from having an additional author to properly construct some sort of theme. I would love to see this book reissued for Kindle with some added information and interviews from music critics, fans and band mates. The moments described in this book are crucial to Bloomfield's development as a musician and for that reason, "Me and Big Joe" is a delightful read. But I wouldn't recommend paying over $100.00 for it.
