I didn’t realize it was going to be so large! It has 11 holes and is perfect for the Big planner. If you have a classic planner, I recommend you get the blue classic size puncher with 9 holes. I bought this so that I could custom design my own pages using 8.5x11 paper. I think this will be perfect but it only cuts 3 pages at once so it may take a while for me to get everything done.
Got this to use with Talia binders & discs. Loving it. The difference in the marked sizes doesn't matter. All the references were about medium sizes not jiving (they don't) But the junior is different holes to? apparently?
Only the large 8 1/2 by 11 lines work right for me. (Shrugging) It's pretty simple to find the sweet spot for your own page sizes & mark it with tape or something if you need to. But your eyes/hands learn with practice.
I've been cleaning out drawers of all the acculation of notepads from charities, promotions, etc.... Once hole punched these can be popped into whichever size disc binder.
A few "it broke the 1st day used" issues may possibly be caused if people do not realize to tip the hole punch every few batches/cuts. This moves the hole cut outs so that they aren't accumulating directly under the punches jamming up the works... ALL enclosed hole punches require this. & You need to Empty it periodically (the bottom pops off & on easily - remove it over a trash can!) Also, respect the recommended batch size... If it is engineered for 3 layers of regular paper, only do 1 or 2 layers of cardstock (& how thick a cardstock is it compared to 3 sheets of paper?) What pound is your paper. Is it heaver than specified for the 3 sheets recommended? 3 sheets of the rather heavy copy paper our Staples uses as default is a fair effort for this model/price point. This tool does its work VERY well within its bound. I've pushed it a bit beyond, but felt the groan & will avoid in future (& I don't recommend pushing that far)... There is a definite limitation.
If you need it to do more volume/paperweight, or sturdy cover materials, you'll need to spend more $$$😉. Once you get a system down, 3 at a time can go pretty quick. Frankly after my initial gathering in of notepads & orphaned papers I don't foresee a need to do vast amounts at once. I'll be able to punch out the things as needed pretty efficiently. Those pages that are identical repeats that don't need change, or kept longerterm for reference, I have mounted in high gloss page protectors & use dry erase markers. I put the page in the 3 ring page protectors I had already. You can put the page in "backward" & punch the smooth side (stronger). This lets the 3 hole edge stick out like a tab. I trimmed a couple leaving only enough margin to be an actual tab.... But I have a whole section of daily procedure/guidelines that is untrimmed to make it easy to flip back & forth to the current day's agenda/actual events/etc, mounted to left of these each day. After a few days I no longer noticed the holes as an asthetic issue.
Anyhow. I like it & expect years of good service... & Will update if that changes. BUT will probably eventually acquire a compatible punch that is designed to handle thicker/denser cover materials, rather than purchasing more "floppy" covers or plastic dividers/pockets. I need my "backfiled data" notebooks, journals, etc to stand upright on the shelf... & The Budget Rules.👍
This is my first time making a teacher planner. I was a little nervous about punching through my mil5 laminated cardstock. I punched one laminated sheet at a time, and it worked great. Next, will be the regular sheets of paper, so I am very pleased with this purchase.
Does exactly what it says it’s going to do. Not portable it’s definitely for your work station. I carry it to work sometimes in my rolling bag. It would be too much weight and takes up a lot of space in a tote or purse. It surprisingly only punches 5 sheets at a time because it seems so heavy duty. I’ve tested it and tried more-don’t because it will get stuck. Follow the directions. Very pleased and it’s sits pretty on the desk. 100% happy with my purchase.
The puncher works great for my happy planner! I bought a happy planner notebook, and am adding my own calendar. This hole punch makes the process easy and flawless! I love the happy planner binding system/rings and now I get to have the best of both worlds :)
Will cut several pages, probably 5, but do not overload it. I tried to make a new cover out of a sheet of plastic, but it was too thick and jammed. I had to unscrew the punchers and take apart. But was able to get it out reassemble and it works great again. Well made product!
If you get the planner and plan on using it for years to come, then the hole puncher is a must. I’ve been able to add anything I print off and blank copy paper to my planner. It only punches like 2-3 sheets at a time though, and there’s no way you could ever use it to punch holes in a folder or anything like that. It was super expensive, but I now have a couple of notebooks going and my daughter is using one of the planners, so in the long run, it’s worth the purchase.

I run two businesses and am a single parent so I rely on my MAMBI Happy Planner to organize my hectic life. I upgraded last year to the large size planner and was in search of a tool through a canadian seller to add pages from my business to my Happy Planner to better organize my planning, development and training documents. This punch is really great quality, easy to use and has a great weight. Has guidelines marked to get the punch for your pages perfect every time. Only thing I would change is that it would -not- be pink. Nothing wrong with the colour, just not my vibe. 10/10 recommend for any serious MAMBI planner, or anyone who wants to ass their personal pages to their MAMBI memory books.
