The quality of the cards and the info listed is good and helpful for our 5-year old son with Apraxia. The pen works great and he enjoys erasing what he has written with the "eraser" on the pen provided (actually probably likes that more...as long as it's a fine motor skill, I'm all for it!). However, the cards are kept in order with a small chain that makes it extremely difficult to move thru the cards. He has to have my help to flip each one. If you remove the chain, the cards will be scattered out of order. They are grouped together and actually, it may be okay to shuffle them around, but I think they are grouped together for a reason, like letters "D", "P", & "B" are together. I do think the practice is helping along with other fine motor skill building exercises we are doing at home along with outpaient therapies.

I purchased these for my son and they have been a fantastic way to get him to remember how his letters are drawn. The alphabet is not taught in the typical A, B, C, D, etc., sequence, and is instead broken up into groups with similar design. For instance, the first group are "Stick letters" (L, F, E, H), the second group is Fire Fighter Letters (T, I , J) and so on. Each group has a little poem that describes the letter group, and how they form the shape. As an example, all the Fire Fighter letters where a big hat (line across the top), one has boots (the I) and the other has a hose (the J). My son had a lot of problems actually being interested in writing well until we got him these, and now he's much more interested. We break up each group for a week, and practice them in different ways (using wikki stix, writing with chalk outside, painting the letters, etc.) until the last day when we write them on the cards, or our dry erase board. All in all, definitely worth the purchase and a great new way to teach writing letters.
