I make Cold Process soaps, serums, lotions, and a variety of other natural products. I have bought from this company before when shopping for ingredients and was pleased with the product. This time I was VERY dissappointed. I chose meadowfoam oil for a product I was making for a specific order. I wanted to experiment with it as a jojoba oil alternative, but mainly I bought it for its long shelf life which is supposed to be 5 years. 5 YEARS. I was hoping to extend the shelf life of my products by incorporating this oil into some of my recipes. I recieved the Meadowfoam oil a few weeks ago but didn't examine it closely as I did not have an order for it yet. When it came time to make lotion yesterday, I broke out this oil and noticed that it expires in December of 2018.I did not have time to return it or order another oil before my product was expected to be ready so I used it anyway. The lotion turned out nicely and I am not upset with the quality of the product. I AM pretty upset that I lost 3 years off the shelf life before receiving my oil. Especially since the shelf life was the reason I bought it. In the future I will not order this kind of oil from this company and will be analyzing their products much more closely in the future before purchasing anything from them again. If you look at my attached picture you will see where it says "New" on the bag the oil was in. It was not new. I still gave 2 stars because I was not unpleased with the performance of the oil.
