Poppy is fine, I liked her. But she forgave him awfully easily with a karaoke song by Elvis... um. Huh? One song and she forgives for him for avoiding her, embarrassing her in front of her agent, not contacting her like an adult *several* times during their “relationship”.
As another reviewer has pointed out, red-eye isn’t a thing between Boston and New York. They’re very close in distance. Traffic in Cape Cod is typically horrible and can take hours (especially during tourist season). Driving a cake from New York to a location on the Cape - seriously? I guess it could happen. It would take hours of driving. And yes; Logan Airport.
Cooper and Poppy's story is filled with heart-wrenching situations, emotionally impacting me to grab some Kleenex every time Cooper behaved so badly towards Poppy...and later, shedding tears of joy when he finally believed for the first time that it is only with Poppy that he found his true love and soulmate! Emotionally touching and sweet, hopefully there's more about their love story in Melody's future books in this series!
I got so lost in this story and enjoyed every minute of it. I can't wait for more Sweetbriar Cove !!
Part of the reason I believe Meant to Be grabbed me so hard is that it is such a lifelike story. I could easily see the locations, almost smell the ocean breeze, felt familiar with the secondary characters as if they were from my own small home town… and really liked Cooper and Poppy. Both have had a difficult love experience, each different but in matters of the heart the emotions run high no matter the reason. Each dealt with those experiences quite differently. One knew when to let go and move on, the other held on to the negative parts of the experience and let it change their life. I never felt either was wrong for how they felt – misguided perhaps, fearful definitely, but everyone deserves to feel how they feel.
I loved this story and hope that you’ll pick up Meant to Be to read and experience this amazing love story for yourself. It’s painful and hopeful, bitter and sweet, steamy and cuddly with characters you’ll feel comfortable with from the start. I was drawn into this world and plan to return very soon. I’d recommend this story to any Contemporary Romance reader who enjoys realistic stories, believable characters and the sense of watching the story unfold through a window. These folks feel and act very real, and I think that’s quite a compliment to the author.
