RGB effects are fun. I enjoy the default rainbow effect across the keyboard. I really like that you can custom color every single key, individually if you want to. It means I can set keys to different colors for easy recognition / reference when gaming. Unfortunately I can't get any of the settings to save. Any time my computer reboots it loses every setting. Even after waking from "sleep" state I have to go back into the ROG Armoury application and click on all my settings again to get them to turn on. I don't have to reset all of them after "sleep", but it's still more work than simply clicking on which configuration I want to use. Thus far I haven't been able to find anything online suggesting how this can be fixed. No updates from ASUS yet which indicate they address this issue. Not sure if it's due to Windows 10 or something else.
Cons: i am now on my third RMA as there are random keys that become unresponsive making it hard to do what a keyboard is made for and that is for typing. Tried calling asus support but they are no help at all and even told me to send it back until i get a working unit or send in for a used one.
I have been on the asus ROG forums and they seem to be trying to help me. It seems like a better place to go then to call into service center. For a company that makes such great looking products they spend no money on service and bad service can hurt a company.
I wanted this keyboard to work correctly so badly as the look and finish of it is great, but sadly the function is more than disappointing. Keys do not register consistently and often double or triple press when they do. Typing passwords was basically impossible. Both software and firmware updated with no change. Tried multiple USB ports. Win10 x64.
The integration with ASUS Aura and Armory software for lighting control worked well.
Update: The replacement had the same issues. I am going to keep my Claymore Core and patiently wait for the number pad to hit the shelves to purchase separately.
