Decent plot line and decent characterization, but hit one of my 'pet peeves' for books at the very end ... it didn't actually end. I like series but I want a story line that tells a complete story within that book. There was a partial ending with some of the issues resolved, but the actual ending was both main characters packing to follow the 'bad guys'. No, sorry ... that doesn't count as an ending for me, so it went from "liked" to "OK".
The dialogue between Jo and Steve is stilted and often they sound like 2 teenagers, and Jo especially acts like a schoolgirl around Steve, blushing, getting tongue-tied, even quivering! every time he looks at her - PLEASE!!!! Then she makes a comment "He knew he had never pressured me to spend less time with my horses and when I had explained how important the show was to me, he was helping me pack up the truck and trailer.Read more ›

Enjoyable tale. Characters plausible. Plot easy to follow. Romance aspect a little unrealistic.

The story line wasn't bad for light reading.
But really, shouldn't a published book, even a free Kindle book, be written by someone who knows proper grammar? Read more

I enjoyed the characters realism. The twisting plot kept me guessing and reading to know where it would go. But I do agree that there was a definite need for and editor. Read morePublished on May 5, 2012 by J.P. Riley
