I know it's redundant to say they fit like a glove, but that expression got it's origins from things that fit perfectly. I have compared these to other work gloves, such as Stanley, but those all had seams that just hit the wrong places and would eventually make my fingers or fingertips sore. These gloves fit like a second skin. A slightly thicker second skin, but just the same.
While I can't exactly type out an email with them on, I can still use a keyboard without pressing four keys at once. They protect your hands very well, yet I can still pick up a dime off of the floor with them on.
The are vented, as stated, but they are still black and leather. You hands will still get a bit warm. But warm beats the heck out of the "hot" from similar products. Oh, and they're washable, too.
I suggest going to a brick and mortar store to try them on to get your size then come back here for a better price. If you don't need them right away, pop 'em in your cart and wait for the price to go down. I did and one day they dipped in price five bucks and a couple of clicks later, they were mine.
I use the load 2 method to load the shotgun in competition, which requires flipping over the shotgun and cradling / grabbing the barrel with your left hand. These gloves protect my hand from the heat easily. They start to get hot after shooting 50+ shells rapidly, but you won't get burned. After 75+ it gets uncomfortably hot, but still no burns.
Both these and the regular coverts work great. I prefer the vented covert gloves unless I am shooting a lot very rapidly.
I use these gloves for CrossFit. From high rep pull ups to barbell work these do very well. Better than batting gloves and they don't stink as fast either. I've washed these gloves and still look brand new with no weaken of the fabric. However smaller hands have a disadvantage on the pull-up bars simply because I'm holding a little bit more thickness. Forearms can get tight if you're not briefly loosening your grip at the top of a kipping/butterfly pull up, especially chest to bar.
No tears from the glove or my hands. Lots of grip. But just because I use gloves doesn't mean I stop shaving my calluses.
I am from Florida and am outside frequently. I also use gloves frequently, so the need for a pair of high quality, rugged gloves is essential. Having high breathe-ability is just a nice perk these gloves enjoy. I turned to Mechanix because of their reputation and the apparent quality of gloves that I have seen in stores. I also like the overall design and color options available, so that helped things along too.
Right off the bat, I noticed that these gloves do not share the same palm material thickness as the Originals. Then I examined them closer and the distinction became less clear. The material appears durable and rugged, though it feels very thin. This, to my observation, seems to come from the perforations in the "leather" which lets it breathe much better. The material itself is not leather, but a high quality phaux leather. I'm curious to see how long it holds up, but it seems to be fairly strong stuff for a pair of light utility gloves. The vent material feels nice and definitely lets a lot of air through to your hands. I was happy of this feature when I used these gloves for mountain bike riding while I enjoyed cool hands and the rest of my riding group complained about how sweaty their hands were.
Design of these gloves matches what you would expect from a pair of Mechanix gloves. My only gripe is that the thumb does not have a full finger cup of the "leather" material. Instead, only the tactile portion of your thumb has the durable stuff, so if you have abrasive material in frequent contact with the side or back of your thumb, the vent material will begin to fray.Read more ›

These gloves were nice for driving a big vehicle, but my fingers broke through after a few months. I liked the gloves but they didn't endure long enough for me.Published 12 days ago by Roni
