Believe me when I say I did extensive research and product spec. look up to find the perfect surge protector that was not too expensive.

My criteria were:

* Response time <1ns
* Clamping voltage 330V
* Led protection light 💡 indicator
* Decent length
* UL Listed

This meet all my needs and then some. The reason I wanted a UL listed product was because Underwriters Lab tests products to meet certain standards, this can mean the difference between a power tap and actual 1449 surge protector. Most cheap Chinese protectors aren't UL listed so you will never know if the surge arrestor in them are good or bad quality. Not worth the risk to have all device die come first surge or spike.

Clamping voltage is another important critera. Ideally, you want 400V or less clamping voltage. This ensures that you will be protected when big spikes or surges occur. 500 V is garabage. 400 V will have already passed through before the protector kicks in.
This clamping is 330V live-neutral, 400V neutral-ground, and 400V ground-live.

Response time is a biggie since this determines how quickly your device will kick in when such a surge occurs. 1ns may not seem like a lot, but it came make the difference versus other cheap protectors.

The light indicator is a must as even though protectors no longer protect, they still can act as power taps. I just noticed and am replacing an old TrippLite protector as the light went out. Don't risk expensive equipment go to waste because your protector stopped working months ago.

This also makes use of gas arrestor which are pretty effective versus MOV which many of the surge protectors have.

Pros: The swivel plug is nice. You can turn the energy saver thing off. It has network jacks, phone jacks, and cable jacks. The company doesn't seem to be trying to impress with fancy packaging and words.

Cons: The ports could be spaced apart further just to accommodate for the few larger plugs I have. I was able to arrange things to work.

Other thoughts: Time and a horrible electrical surge will tell weather or not it is good. Hopefully I never have to find out. If I do I'll update the review.

Item seem to fail after only 6 days of use at an important presentation - unfortunately, several plugs randomly turned power off with popping/clicking sounds (master plug was not in use). I always utilize surge protectors at Hotel presentations for my projector TV, DVD play, computer, etc.. I replaced this item with a backup from another manufacturer - back up worked fine for the next 8 days on the same Hotel line. Manufacturer contacted me about my initial report of failure. Upon review with very helpful technician/engineer, if Master plug is empty, system will normally act as I describe unless ENERGY SAVER switch is turned OFF. Again, if MASTER PLUG is left empty, ENERGY SAVER switch must be turned OFF for proper operation.

Perfect surge protector for my daughter's dorm room. Now that you MUST supply a surge protector (or more) for you room this makes it easy for her to use and really like the fact that it has an energy saving mode for separate devices. Simply to use and has a master surge protector outlet for computer so that you are fully covered.

Great price too for all the extras!

Putting together a new home theater system, I was in need of another power strip, and had just become aware of just how much power my receiver and subwoofer would consume while purportedly off. I had also just purchased a Mediabridge TOSlink cable, and included in that was a brief catalog of their products, in which I found this. It was just what I needed! It's a surge protector, of course, but more important is the novel switching mechanism. There is a master outlet, and a series of slave outlets. The power state of whatever is plugged into master, controls the power going to the slave outlets. If master is on, slave devices receive power. If master is off, they don't. Pretty simple, and there's not much more I can say. It seems to be built well, and is of the same quality I have come to expect from Mediabridge.

Luckily, I haven't had to check any surge protection yet, but really like the
clean layout of receptacles with some being switched. I use it for the tangle
of plugs related to the TV and related devices (Blu Ray, etc.)

It sure does what it says it would do. I can't say what the actual amount of electricity consumption I've reduced is, but my bill is lower. It might also be I've been playing more 3DS than XBOX lately.

The only tricky thing, which is a hard problem to solve, is if you have too many bulky plugs. The onus is really on manufacturers to not make those anymore, and its getting better.

This is a quality product, don't hesitate to buy. I like that I can separate electronics that can be turned completely off and those that might need continuous juice. Haven't lost anything to a storm yet.
