These Banana plugs are VERY short, they have O-rings and the "red and black" are rubber..... These are QUALITY banana plugs!!!!
When I made up my speaker wires.... Mark down on each side of the speaker wire 4" and then slide some "shrink-tubing" down on the speaker wire.... Now put the "shrink tubing" at the 4" mark and heat it up so it shrinks tightly around the wire..... Now you will be able to split the wire for the positive and negative and it will prevent the speaker wire from separating more than the 4" and will have a place to put colored electrical tape.
Note: I used shrink tubing, but if you don't have any (found at auto supply and harbor freight) I think just the electrical tape would suffice.

Somehow I have never heard of this company until just last month. I was putting together a new audio system, and picked up some 14 gauge wire off Amazon made by Mediabridge. When I got it I flipped through the brochure and found the company's statement regarding being dedicated to quality at reasonable prices. I'll admit, I rolled my eyes thinking it was just more marketing speak. But after using the cables (including resistance and inductance measurements), I was impressed.
What I was less impressed with were the big-name banana plugs I had bought to terminate the cables. So, I figured I would try out the Mediabridge version and see if the speaker cable was a quality fluke. I'm happy to say I was not disappointed. Compared to the big-name banana plugs I got, well, there really is no comparison. As with the cables, I measured resistance/capacitance/inductance on the wires after having the banana plugs installed, and also measured resistance directly at my speakers and then with the Mediabridge banana plugs/wires connected, and am very pleased with the results. This company is now on my go-to list for quality products.
Included photo shows plugs while using aforementioned 14 gauge wire. As you can see, they have plenty of space left if you wanted to run bigger wiring.

These little guys are heavy, which is a good thing!
I bought these banana plugs and Mediabridge's 14AWG Speaker Wire (50 Feet) as well, hoping to upgrade from 18AWG Insignia speaker wire (from BestBuy) connected to speakers and receiver via bare-wire connection. And boy has this been an upgrade.
I first noticed the bass response at lower volumes. My speakers definitely are receiving the full signal now, and it's shown in the low-frequencies! The mid- and high-range haven't changed all that much, if even at all. Next, I noticed the volume jump. All of the sudden, I was able to play my tunes at a lower volume than '32' of '80' and it still sounded the same loudness. I think this is because of the thicker guage having less resistance, and the banana plugs provide a much more reliable conneciton between the components too.
Now, while I can't say the difference the plugs have done as a separate component, I can say there is a noticeable positive difference through switching from 18AWG/bare-wire to 14AWG/banana plugs. That is indisputable in my case. As for these plugs, they're pretty dang nice, with a solid feeling in the hand. I did the test they show in the accompanying video here on the Amazon page by pulling on the wire when I finished attaching it... it holds very well. The wire slipped through my hands before I could yank it out of the plug. These banana plugs aren't going anywhere. AND NEITHER SHOULD YOU. Do yourself a favor and buy these now; they're such a value and convenience.
