I had this with Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 10. Never had any issues as mentioned on other reviews. Yesterday, it just stopped working. No good reason, it simply did not have any internet connection anymore. But I bought it in January 2012!

This is a pretty outdated wifi adapter I must say, but for when I bought it, it was excellent, and never stopped working. I have 50mb/s internet connection at home, and it detected it without any problems.

I wouldn't recommend buying it anymore, not because it doesn't work, but because there are much faster wifi adapters that have the 5Ghz band (this one only has the 2.4Ghz one), therefore are going to have much less interference. But I never had any problems.

Wireless yes, but very limited range and speed

I got this item because it was cheap, and it was wireless. I am using the product because the computer is 1 room away, approximately 20 feet, from the modem I am trying to connect to.

It took about 20 minutes for this little device to find the connection, and even once it was connected, it disconnected itself frequently. If you are doing simple little tasks like checking emails or lightly browsing the internet, it may serve its purpose. But if you are trying to do heavy duty tasks which require uninterrupted internet connection, go with a more expensive and reliable device, or just go wired.

I will order a 25ft or 50ft ethernet cable because this simply doesn't cut it. Would have been pissed if this was $30 plus.

EDIT Sept 18th

Since my negative review of the product, a customer service rep got in touch with me and we went through a troubleshooting process through email. The rep concluded that my product could be defective and sent me a new one without even asking me to return the defective unit.

I just got the new unit today and I simply snapped in the USB onto my existing docking station, and the speed is amazing, just as good as an ethernet wired connection.

Yes my first unit was indeed defective, it turned out. However, Mediabridge's customer service more than made up for it. In the future, if I ever need a computer accessory product, I will first check with the product line up at MediaBridge so that I can be assured that if my product doesn't work for any reason, they will make it right.

Beware if you're upgrading to Windows 10!

Its worked fine for us for several years now...however, in the waning days of free Windows 10 upgrade, it looks like the driver for this device is causing Windows 10 setup to fail. I'm going to try it again, but unplug the USB cable once the setup process is well underway (with the percentage indicators, etc). It crashed when it was about 90-something% complete overall, in the "configuring settings" phase. Going to check if there is an updated driver (doubtful). Lots of other people posting on various support forums, with crashes in "netr28ux.sys".

Great Product! **But not compatible for Sony Bravia**

First and foremost the product is wonderful and easy to install. The strength signal is through the roof and the customer service couldn't be better. I will give credit where credit is due :) Although I bought it for our Sony Bravia (internet ready)and later find out it's not compatible. I'm not giving the company and bad review because after I spent a few hours trouble shooting, I decided to go back and read more into the reviews. I finally saw right in front of my face from Medialink's customer service state it is not compatible for my tv. The information was there and it's my fault I didn't see it. However, little disappointed that when I searched Amazon for "Sony TV Adapter", this product appears right next to it. I think that's a bit misleading, but I did see others had success with their adapters and tv's? Must just be a Sony thing, go figure. :/ I hope this saves someone time and money if in same situation!

Hello from Medialink,
Sony "suggests" their UWA-BR100 because it is the only adapter that will work. They really should change that wording because it misleads a lot of people. Our adapters will not work with Blu-Ray players, XBox, PS3, or any device which does not run an Operating System.

Sorry Karen! I wish Sony would share the details of how to make an wi-fi adapter that would work with their equipment but they do not unforunately. You could use these however as alternative:

Worked for five years

Until someone hit it and the USB broke (I think it was a baby who his my USB adapter).

Not sure about Windows 10 but it worked well up to Windows 8.

I did not experience errors or slowdowns.
