About the Author

Terry Dodson grew up between Texas and Arkansas as a child; finally settling in Arkansas by his teenage years. Throughout his high school years he was an aspiring young artist only to finally enlist in the U.S. Army after graduation. He went on to become an expert in telecommunications during his twenty year career. He traveled to many different countries serving two tours to Germany with a few deployments behind his belt including a tour of duty in Operation Iraqi Freedom 08-09 and many different life-changing experiences; he now as a disabled veteran writes the stories of people long since passed. As a medium since childhood; he sees and hears the stories from many generations throughout history. He considers himself bit of a traveling philosopher as well as a poet. Most important he is an artist, musician, and most of all he is “The Medium Writer”.

The medium Writer is fantastically riveting! It had me from the very first page! I was reading all through the house-I couldn't put it down. It intertwined the past and the present. If you love history and paranormal, you will love this book-a must read. The character Tony Garraldini is fascinating how he embraces his paranormal abilities, and everyday life. A man, soldier, husband and a medium bringing all this together to tell the stories of long passed soldiers and their families. All the while coping with his own crippling past and present life. I love the part in the book where he is first visited by the confederate soldiers in the I.C.U. and he has a hard time wrapping his mind around reality versus the hallucinations of strong pain medications. It made me wonder about all the families and untold stories of the past-what was it like for them? What is like to live with being a medium? I guess it's like standing in a place seeing the present meld into the past-vision yourself looking at a present day street where you see your house, car, and neighbors doing their everyday routine and you see past spirits intertwined into what it use to be in their eyes. Next time you get a glimpse of a shadow or figure think about it-is it real or your imagination? The breeze upon the back of your neck, that touch on your arm, or that tug of your hair-is your imagination or something more? This book makes my imagination run wild. If you like ghost stories like "The Others" or "Ghost" you will like the "The Medium Writer Unshattered Spirits" I hope there will be another medium writer book.

I am Terry's Mother and could be biased on my opinion. I am very proud of him for doing this work and as I read it I was fascinated at the fact that he had his visitations. Having a sixth sense runs in the family and I guess his several near-death experiences enhanced the family trait. I cried as I read the part about him nearly drowning because I remember that day vividly. I remember getting a call from his CO when he had his accident telling us to prepare for a funeral. It was a long road but he recovered!!! He went through some very tough times I wasn't even aware of until I read his book. I was enthralled as I read the story of the rebel soldiers and very happy to see them be free of their oppressors. I really liked it and I am probably more critical than most would be.
