On February 7, 1964, The Beatles arrived at New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport, greeted by scores of screaming, swooning fans who rushed the gate to catch a glimpse of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr as they took their first steps on American soil. Two nights later, on Sunday, February 9, 73 million viewers in the U.S. and millions more in Canada tuned in to CBS to watch The Beatles make their American television debut on ‘The Ed Sullivan Show.’ In what remains one of the world’s top-viewed television events of all time, The Beatles performed five songs on the live broadcast and ‘Beatlemania,’ already in full, feverish bloom in The Beatles’ native U.K., was unleashed with blissful fervor across America and around the world. The British Invasion had begun. The U.S. albums were originally issued between 1964 and 1970 by Capitol Records, Apple Records, and United Artists in the United States. These new releases seek to replicate the unique listening experience heard by Americans at the time by preserving the sequences, timings, and artwork found on the albums. Capitol’s engineers in the 1960s took great care to produce what they believed to be the best possible sound for the playback equipment in use at that time. Due to the limitations of the record players of the day, engineers often compressed the sound by raising the volume of the softer passages and lowering the volume for the louder parts of the songs. They also reduced the bass frequencies since too much bass could cause the record to skip. In some cases, reverb was added to the tracks to make them sound more “American.” This album is packaged in a miniature vinyl sleeve that faithfully recreates the original U.S. LP release down to the finest detail, including the inner sleeve. MEET THE BEATLES was originally released January 10, 1964 in the U.S. It spent 11 weeks at No. 1. This album is a limited edition release.

I have a love for the Beatles. I've started collecting some of their record albums that remind me of things from my childhood. I had alot of these albums back in the day however we played them on our stereo so many times that we literally wore them out and I don't even know where they went. It was securely wrapped, was delivered very quickly and it had the original sleeve that the record album came with. I was more than pleased. "Meet" Needs A Remix.....

This release is how the previous EMI/London masters should have been done all along by putting both the Mono and Stereo versions on the same CD. MEET THE BEATLES beats both WITH THE BEATLES and PLEASE PLEASE ME because it only has one cover song - "Till There Was You". The latter two have 6 cover songs each. Finally after 50 years we get to hear the correct song order which is how we in the USA got to know the Beatles on vinyl. The packaging duplicates the album cover down to tee including the other popular releases of the time. There is also a sliding plastic outer cover for long lasting protection. The Mono sound is the better of two since the Stereo versions still has that separation which is sub-standard. The bottom line is a stereo remix is badly needed after "I Want To Hold Your Hand" which seems to be the only one of bunch that has a proper balance. The sound people have been wanting to do a stereo remix for years. It's up to the Beatles organization to get it done. Until then I'll take what's here with the reverb slightly enhancing this album compared to EMI/London previous Master's mixes. I consider MEET THE BEATLES the premier album by the group until "A Hard Day's Night". The boys were quite able to cover songs like "Please Mister Postman" and "Twist And Shout" with "A" level George Martin productions. What it comes to is on a day in day out basis, I'd rather hear the Beatles doing their own written songs than say Motown. MEET THE BEATLES is the real early Beatles. This CD is good value for the price.

I've been looking for a CD of Meet the Beatles for ages, because I wanted those songs in the same order I remember listening to when I was a young teen during the early days of Beatlemania. Finally decided to bite the bullet and order it, and I'm so glad I did! This CD has mono and stereo versions of all the songs. The stereo obviously sounds better, but if I play mono in my car I can remember listening on that tiny speaker in the middle of the family car's dash. I'm so old!

More brilliance from The Fab Four. We're given both the mono and stereo versions here. This album got me hooked on The Beatles and fifty plus years later it still has me hooked. The musicianship and vocals are really top flight. This disc offers us some pretty important Beatles songs. "I Want To Hold Your Hand," "I Saw Her Standing There" and "All My Loving" are here, as well as one of my favorites "It Won't Be Long." I cannot recommend this album enough, it is a critical recording to own. These guys couldn't be beat (IMHO).

It is good album, and comes in a very acceptable quality and packaging considering the price. Please not that the disc has some minor scratches and the cover has a blue tint instead of being black. Other than that it is a amazing purchase, go ahead buy it. If you want to collect then I'd probably suggest buying the more expensive one as it has more contents like photo book etc and the cover is accurate.

Projet qui avait été annulé au départ et finalement lancé en 1964 par le label Vee-Jay. Cet album CD est emballé dans une enveloppe de plastique avec languette pliante, comme pour les nouveau LP. Cet album CD est sorti en 2014 sous étiquette Universal Music.

Good sound quality and a repro of the original US release in cardboard sleeve and a repro of the original inner sleeve with advertising on from the 60s. Very thick card as well, strong. Good value and top music from the fab four.
