Low Clearance and other hang-ups

The Megablox are great. This particular dump truck has very low clearance, making it challenging for a toddler to get it over bumps in carpet or dirt. The wheels quickly become loaded with gravel bits and then don't roll very well any more--it seems to be an indoor toy. The dump truck bed has no locking mechanism so it is very easy for a toddler to put pressure in the wrong place and have the thing whack him in the forehead. We had a different model--a yellow dump truck with the Megablox toys inside -- and it had higher clearance and a slight latch to the dumper.

this is actually bought for my nephew for 1st birthday. my son received it for his 2nd birthday 2 years ago and still loves to play with it. the only thing he didn't like about it was when he would go to lift it by the dump box, it would separate from the truck part (like it is suppose to), but it made it difficult to pick up and carry up a couple stairs. so my husband modified it so the dump part doesn't "dump" anymore by screwing it down on the inside of the box. my son doesn't care that he can't dump things out, he just likes to push it around and run with it.

My Sons Favorite Toy!

This might possibly be my 2 year old son's favorite toy. He puts just about anything and everything in the back of this truck, which holds quite a bit actually. He then runs it all over the house. We ended up buying this as a second identical truck to keep upstairs and downstairs as he insists carrying it with him. He thoroughly abuses this truck and it has really held up well. The wheels have never popped off either truck for us after months and months of use, and it is still going strong. I would highly recommend this truck for toddlers who love pushing things around!

My 20 month old son LOVES this. He fills it and dumps it over and over again and it keeps him very busy. He also puts the dump up and can use it as a ride on. He weighs less than 30lbs. The thing I love about the back is that you can fill it up without it falling back, there's a little catch at the base that releases easily. I also like that it is nice and deep. He has a few other dump trucks that he can't fit much into and gets frustrated with them because the stuff he puts in won't stay.

Beware: It’s not a push-toy

My 15 month old grandson loves his mega block truck. The only problem is that when he pushes it from the rear, the dump truck bed unlatches easily and he falls on the truck, which can cause injury. So you have to constantly prevent him from leaning on the truck and pushing it.

I bought this for a friends little boy's 1st bday! It was a huge hit which I knew it would be. My only complaint would be that when he pushes it from behind it flips backwards and hits him in the face. I have the CAT version and my 1 yr old has never had a problem with that happening. When my son pushes the John Deere one it flips on him. Not a huge deal..they will learn to push without putting as much weight on the back of the truck but I had read this on other reviews so thought I'd share! I would still purchase again!
