First of all, everything that comes in the calendar is tiny and all 24 days worth fit in the small container as pictured. Second, there is absolutely nothing “American Girl” about this product. The figures included are not American Girl characters. They don’t even have names. Very disappointed with this purchase.

I read the reviews before I purchased this, so I was thoroughly prepared to disguise the box in order to make the contents a surprise. I ended up painting the entire box green with acrylic paint, so it resembled a Christmas tree. I put red circles around the numbers for the days, so we could still see the numbers and they looked like ornaments. I think picturing all the contents on the side of the box that you open is pretty impractical for an Advent calendar, which is why I still only gave it 4 stars instead of 5. The contents were cute, and my girls enjoyed it!

Some of the pieces seem lame in all honesty. I mean, yes, there is something to open but the box leaves no surprize to the kids and and seems a tad boring. Street lights....several different kinds, fake money, 2 dolls/girls, 2 different sleds......I am sure it will be a hit either way but it seemed like it should be more of a surprize of what is inside the calendar and would be better in the $15-20 range for the items inside because they were kind of boring. I am not sure how many little girls are exciting about street posts.....especially multiple ones.

Missing head and difficult for young girls to put together

I brought this a couple of years ago, but just gave it to my girls today. My girls are 6 and 9. The advent calendar is labeled 8 plus - saying that my 9 year old couldn’t put together the girl figure at all. To make matters worse she came with 3 arms and no head. Both my daughters wanted to start with the head. So now they have a half constructed figure since the hair has no head to attach to and we have a third arm floating around. I would give this product zero stars if I could.

First day was cute - LEGO girl. But the days after were lame... skis, two tiny LEGO poles for the skis. Today (day 6) she got a tiny scarf for the LEGO girl. She is very disappointed. I should have looked at the descriptions more carefully! There are better “toy” advent calendars out there...

Not off to a great start - Had the calendar set up as a gift for my daughter in our new house. She excitedly opened day 1 eager to see what she had to build. We opened the bag with the mini figure pieces for Day 1 and were missing the torso and 1 of the legs. (It is impossible to put any of these together without a torso) Disappointing for her obviously because she had nothing to play with and disappointing for me to have the first gift I give my daughter in our new home be useless partial collection of mini figure parts.
