Okay, I could only give this two stars. First of all, the autorip you get from Amazon is missing the track "Mechanix". That would almost be forgivable because I can just rip the disc but, add to that the abysmal sound quality and this was a losing deal all the way around.
I played the autorip on a fairly decent PC set up which includes a high end external dac and the best it sounded was like it was "remastered" in a bath tub. Why can't artists just leave the original recordings alone? I totally get the fact that they want to attract new fans and build the potential to make more money - I am totally onboard with that. What I cannot get behind is them passing off garbage to fans.
A few shining moments were the tracks that did not state they were remastered. They sound half way decent on the PC set up. The other problem with this disc which seems to be running rampant in the music industry is the "I NEED TO BE LOUDER THAN THE NEXT GUY" mentality. They have jacked the gain up so high that the waveform is clipped. I suspected this right away after listening to about ten seconds of the first track so, I confirmed this suspicion in Audacity. The waveform is clearly clipped which will take away some warmth and ambiance.
Now to give this disc a fair shake, I played it on three very different systems and the best results were to be found on my high end equipment. The disc also sounded much better on my vintage set up but, was complete rubbish on a fairly high end PC set up.
I get the impression this was mastered for mp3 players. The only place I have not tried it was in the car and I probably won't either. At this point, I am going to keep my eyes out for the original issues. I will gladly pay more money for them.
My final conclusion is to stay way from this disc completely. Even on a high end system the recording is lacking in any resemblance of warmth or feeling. The recording is very cold and well, digital. It's just a bumch noise that needs to be played at low volumes to not fatigue the ear too quickly. The complete analog feel of the original recordings is not present at all.
A message to the artists and the music industry: Stop insulting the fans. Please re-release original recordings unmolested. We do not want to pay for garbage.

Some real classics and some dodgy tracks where Mustane talks his way through.
