These aren't bad and work well for polishing/waxing but I still prefer the ones from Griot's Garage. As you can see in the picture, the felt backing does not extend all the way to the edge so that little half inch of foam at the edge will crack and tear off (shortening the pad's life). My Griot's Garge pads have the backing going all the way to the edge so the foam pad is better supported at the edge. Granted with these you don't have to worry about the backing felt leaving any kind of mark on the paint if you are polishing a tricky spot. FYI I used these pads with a Porter Cable random orbital polisher.

I used this series of Meguiar's foam pads for the first time after using the twisted wool style for years. While I'll probably never totally give up the old, really like these foam pads. I did a very costly custom paint job on a street rod and used these pads to finish the paint - it turned out super slick. You do have to use these as well as the old twisted loop wool pads with care, but the foam pads will not burn through paint as quickly.

As far as another person's review, the product description says 'quick change system' - caveat emptor

I used this to buff a coat of wax off my car, and it worked perfectly. A good tip is to apply the wax with a foam pad on a buffer for a thin even coat. Doing it by hand usually leaves a heavier and harder to remove coat. It did not fly off the backing pad (Makita brand) and did a superb job. I imagine it will last a good while, as Meguiar's makes quality products. Also, a pleasent surprise is that this item is made in the USA.

This is the only way to go with high speed polishers. My air powered polisher used to have a connecting nut in the center of the disc. One slip up and you totally wrecked your paint job.

I purchased the entire system years ago you must have the HUB ASSEMBLY TO USE THESE. Its a velcro system that attaches to any polishing system.

the 3 stage system is the only way to go for severe cases of neglect. CUT, CLEAN, POISH. thus i bought the RED for cut, Yellow for clean, Beige for polish. I don't reccomend mixing waxes as thats why I have the 3 stage system

The Meguiar product line takes care of a '59 Austin Healy and two newer vehicles. The Meguiar polisher coupled with the pads make the job short and easy. I'd purchase the polisher again and I'll keep purchasing the finishing pads as needed.

I've been using the Meguiar's 8-inch pads on my Porter Cable variable speed buffer for years. My last one has been used to buff my Subaru Outback, 4-Door Dodge truck, and Motorcycle and still has plenty of life left.

I use it on my Meguiars DA polisher. Best way to polish your car: Place your pad on your Meguiars DA polisher(hopefuly like mine). Spray a little Meguiars "Quick Detailer" on your Pad. Set Speed to 3. Apply a small amount of Meguiars Polish in a cross Shape to the Pad. I persoNalLy like "The Ultimate Polish". Work on a 2 X2 Ft area.
Start the polisher. Move the polisher back and forth overlapping the area you already applied the polish.
Once you have covered the all 2X2 area, increase the speed to 4. Give another couple of passes. Note: Be Careful that the area being polished does not become dry. Turn off momentarily the polisher and test the area with your index finger by touching the polish . It should feel pasty. If not, apply a little more polish (just a few drops), and restart the polisher.
What I do, I spray a little more Quick detailer on the Pad. That allows me to work the area again. Usually take about 4 passes. Finally, clean the area with a microfiber towel. Have several towels handy. Do not use a microfiber towel to clean the polished car once it has become dirty. I usually use 4 to 6 towels for polishing, and 4 for to clean the wax coat.Happy Polishing! CAR CRAZY FRIENDS!
