This is a really good sized bag. There are zippered pouches for your patterns or book, plus all your supplies like hook/needles and scissors. There are 3 zipper pouches on the top for you to put your yarn into. One of the pictures shows I have 3 skeins of Red Heart Super Saver in there at the moment (the one is the middle is the Jumbo sized). I could probably squeeze 2 or 3 more skeins into these pouches if I really needed to but it would be tight. Since I had already started my project and did not want to cut my yarn, I went ahead and put the skeins in through the zippered back where you store your project (see pic), so all the yarn is inside the bag. There are a couple reasons I will continue to do this instead of running the yarn through the grommets. First, the poorly placed velcro strips under the grommets. In my experience, velcro and yarn do not mix well. It pulls at it and can cause splitting and fuzzies (which I was reminded of when I accidentally set my project on top of the bag for a few minutes), and since you aren't able to fully cover the velcro, it's a design flaw in my mind. I will be attempting to cut at least the exposed velcro off. Second, If you run your yarn through the grommets, that means you're going to be running your yarn into a zipper in order to store your project in the bag. Not a major issue, but I can see it getting caught in the zipper, the yarn strings getting caught on something, or little hands having some fun pulling all the yarn out of the hole. Overall, it's a pretty decent bag that I would recommend.

The Good:
I love this bag, and it is great for all of my projects. From making blankets, to scarfs, and other projects. It is very large, and can hold plenty of yarn, and multiple projects. It is easy to fill this bar and run the yarn through the holes when you first get it, and the storage side is large enough for baby blankets or other projects.
It is a nice quality. Not great, but not bad. Zippers work well for me, and while on the cheaper side, they match the quality of the bag. The clear plastic is thin, but not too thin, and I am not afraid of needles poking holes in it.
The Bad:
In my opinion, this bag was not fully thought out. There is zero structure to the bag. It will not hold its form, without something in it. Something could have been provided to help everything stand on its own. Some cut and molded cardboard, or something.
The second issue, is that all of the compartments are open at the bottom. I find that as the yarn gets smaller, it can slid under the bottom and into the storage side. Not something I want to happen when working on projects, and transporting it around. This was the one thing that bothered me the most. I would have wanted to know this, as it would be the one thing that could change my mind on getting it. I expected it to be solid deviders.
As a whole, I am pleased with the purchase and would recommend it. I would have paid a little more in order to have the changes to make the cons to pros.
I have seen the other style, that is a barrel shape, and would not recommend it. This one is better in terms of use, and layout than that one. As it does not have any shape holding qualities to it either.
I was a bit skeptical to order it after reading so many reviews of the poor quality zippers and plastic, but for only 13$ I was willing to give it a try. Most yarn totes I had looked at prior to this were at least twice as expensive. Yes I can tell the zippers and plastic might need to be "babied" and handled gently. Also I wouldnt put too much weight into the bag because it does feel as though it could fall apart. If you are trying to tote a throw or afghan in this, you might put too much stress on the seams and handles. If you're like me just carrying a few light/sport weight skeins and a needle or two, I can't imagine that being a problem.
I was VERY impressed with the huge pocket in the backside. I must have missed that there was a back pocket in the product description -- literally I could almost crawl inside there myself! (Kidding:). I keep my back pocket full of fiber fill and eyeballs and such (lightweight things) although I'm sure you could easily fit an extra 6 skeins of yarn or more back there. (Again, be careful of over weighting this bag though!).
My assessment: if you're not going to be carrying this around in transport too frequently with a heavy amount of weight in it, it will probably hold up just fine for you. I take mine all over the place (without much weight in it) and I'm just mindful of the zips and seams and treat it with care. So far it's held up beautifully and it's been a great investment for my amigurumi adventures!
