“Winston Wolkoff's book is unique in the landscape of books about the Trumps, as the first insider's look at the first lady's private world.”
—The Washington Post
“The third of the big unauthorized Melania explainers, after Free, Melania by Kate Bennet in 2019 and The Art of Her Deal by Mary Jordan, which was published earlier this year, Melania & Me may also be the most revealing.”
—The New York Times
"Wolkoff’s book is remarkable both for its intimacy and for the sheer volume of receipts it contains. It’s also the first real look at what’s under Melania Trump’s hood—which, in Wolkoff’s telling, is surprisingly callous and ugly."
—Vanity Fair's The Hive
"epic scream of a tell-all"
—New York Times Book Review
"The first lady's former aide shares juicy tales of backbiting, inauguration chaos, and why Melania wouldn't use Michelle Obama's bathroom."

Wolkoff took copious notes during their relationship and never tossed out their texts, which were replete with Melania telling her she loved her with added emojis. Wolkoff, despite her affluent life, is a hard-working, charitable woman, and mother of three children and an adoring husband, whom she says is a great dancer – loved that part. Wolkoff worked very hard to become the great advisor, director and professional who was able to create and organize big events. She has a valid, impressive resume.
Wolkoff became a convert to Trumpland. The night of the election, she was very happy for Melania and the Trumps. Up to that time, the author supported Melania’s rise to First Lady and advised of her personal and national responsibilities. She counseled her and was sincere in her support. She wanted Melania to be the “best,” sound familiar?
They became friends or at least Wolkoff thought they were. They always said they loved each other as many close girl friends express... Melania cared about her son, possibly Donald, since she is so much like him, her parents and sister. At one point, Melania asked her to help her sister obtain an O-1 visa which is granted to non-Americans who have achieved an extraordinary achievement or ability that would benefit our country. The author did not know her sister but wrote a recommendation for Ines. Ines was granted the visa but Stephanie Wolkoff never received a thank you. As an American citizen and referencing Trump’s penchant against immigrants, I do not approve of Wolkoff’s help in obtaining a visa for someone she did not know. But apparently, she would do anything for Melania.
Everything came crashing down when Stephanie was expelled from the Trump kingdom. Apparently, there were serious problems concerning the finances of the inauguration. Melania could have assuaged any culpability directed at her, but she didn’t. Stephanie begged Melania to just explain everything. She didn’t. Their relationship was all but over. Our author was devastated and needed legal representation. She was betrayed and then began to tape pertinent conversations of Melania regarding the questionable usage of substantial inaugural money. We may hear Melania discussing this money - STAY TUNED.
Wolkoff can support conversations, texts, notes, events, etc. She is meticulous; after all she is an event planner. Many readers may find the references to Ivanka and her relationship to Melania very interesting. Personally, I am still waiting for Melania to do something for our country. Almost all First Ladies had an active goal: literacy, obesity in children, women’s rights are a few. Apparently, Melania does not want to be bothered. Wolkoff finally understood why Melania remains with Donald, she is just like him.
You’ll also learn about Melania’s personal acceptance of her creepy husband’s behavior, as well as her laissez faire disposition towards rules, the have-nots of the world and the plainly wicked avarice within the inaugural planning process.
The author is wholly believable telling all the goodies leaving no stone unturned.
But the book I'm really looking forward to is the autobiography of the third Mrs. Trump, should she ever write it.
I can hardly wait to read about her early life, in particular the challenges she faced at Princeton as a young black woman from Chicago.

about me, IT'S CRINGWORTHY and I feel embarrassed for her that she feels the need to include them many many times. Her insecurities take away from the story, which hasn't got a lot of "meat" to begin with. Very disappointed.
The Princess -1 /The Wannabe -0 /STEFFO 10.
Just as well this is fiction and bears no resemblance to anyone in public life. Great entertaining read - laughed my ass off at the bitching. Can't wait for the series The Crown to finish and someone to make a series with all the main players in this fictional camelot BE BEST BITCH could be the title.
It is sad to read how divisively the Trump administration conducts itself- what is described is consistent with what is described in other books like Unhinged and Fire and Fury.
There are currently 3 current legal investigations into the funds raised by PIC for the Trump inaguration so to read insider knowledge of the sheer chaos in how business was done and the boycott of many performers is riveting. Like real life thriller.
What I found highly distracting as other reviewers have also mentioned is the self aggrandising tone of the author. And she can come across as a bit of a matyr too which is irritating- in terms of how she perceives her friendship with Melania. However it is actually very saddening that she gave up 'time with her family, her health and even time for a walk' to serve Melania Trump for it to end this way. It is a fact that she was highly successful in her field and her professional reputation has been damaged by false media reports.
Although I am irritated at times with the author I do actually do believe the facts and sequence of events she reports. Hoping the author is vindicated by the legal investigations.
