I am an author, playwright, English lecturer, and educational consultant, and the one to watch in this literary industry. My southern Mississippi roots are being nurtured in Chicago, Illinois.
I have taught college composition for over 19 years. My first book, My Soul to His Spirit:Soulful Expressions from Black Daughters to Their Fathers, won the 2006 National Fresh Voices Award.
Lime, my debut novel, takes you, the reader, along with Lime's around-the-world adventures as an international supermodel. However, in the midst of her fairy-tale life, she is forced to confront the realities of violence against women. For the first time, the fantasies of beauty come face-to-face with the horrors of domestic violence.
In my spare time, I enjoy time with my three gifted and beautiful daughters, cardio and strength training, bike riding, swimming, live theater, concerts, reading, and listening to NPR.
