The plot and development of each books is established during a reasonable timeline and progress at a decent pace. The books overall have a fairly light feel to them and are easy reads. I found the characters to lack some dimension and felt like they fell a little flat. It seemed that there were pieces to the story missing and that the actions of the characters were fairly disjointed. Mele's aunt seems to have some strange quirks and I can't quite decide if the author intended her to come across as awkward as she does. A possible love interest develops in a police detective, Roy, but that relationship may be the slowest developing one that's ever existed. (**small spoiler** They finally kiss in book 3).
Overall not bad read, but not books I would grab to read again.
Interesting characters. Poor Mele is a cynic & afraid of love. She literally tripping over bodies when she arrives at her Aunt Bebe's home. Humor, mystery, and possibly love!
The way these entities interacted with the main characters was different than usual.
I like this author.
