Build Those Motor Skills
Reaching high to stack the blocks, pushing out to knock them down, balancing to stand on top, or taking careful steps along a colorful block road -- playtime with these durable cardboard blocks offers all kinds of ways to build gross motor skills. Their extra-large size means every tower engages large muscle groups in some way, and improves core strength as children reach, twist, bend, and balance while they build. The assortment of bright colors and three distinct sizes also adds lots of opportunities for matching games and sorting fun, and caregivers can encourage exciting shuttle races and tower-building contests to challenge gross motor skills even more. But perhaps most satisfying of all is the simple pleasure of building and knocking down -- a classic game and, at this scale, a terrific exercise for flexibility, core strength, and balance.

All in all, happy with the purchase. The 40 blocks seem sufficient for a small sized classroom. I would double the purchase for a medium to large classroom. If there any extras or they don't all fit inside the shelf, I like to keep some in the back cabinet as a standby. Cuz you know, with kids, they'll figure out a way to somehow make a few of these usable. :)
There are three colors of varying sizes and quantities - red ones are the largest, then square blue ones (2 blues = 1 red), and small yellow ones (2 yellows = 1 blue and 4 yellow = 1 red).
It's great to give our son these giant blocks - he's been letting his imagination run wild, building trains, ships, castles, etc. It's interesting - 40 does not seem like a lot when your son has built half a "train" and has run out of blocks :)
