An Apple for an Animal
One for the goose and ten for the goat the animals are counting on you to bring them fruit to eat! Fill each basket with the correct number of red “apples” by sliding the attached magnetic wand over the acrylic cover. Perform math-magic with no removable pieces. Kids three and up will enjoy moving the apples with the magnet wand, counting how many are in each basket, and then making the animal sounds, or even turning the magnetic play into a story. Older kids may also race each other to see who can fill up the apples fastest. The cord holding the magnetic pen is attached to the board and just long enough to reach the entire board but short enough to keep kids safe. Adults will love the fact that there are no individual pieces, which means that there is no mess at home or on the road. This is a great idea to help with dexterity, counting skills, number recognition and matching. Kids will enjoy hours of play simply moving the apples around the maze, feeding the animals, or playing number games!

It is a little heavy, so it adds some weight to your activity bag. The size is fairly large making it slightly difficult for lap play especially with the weight, but it is manageable.
The clear plexiglass seems to have a "trail" from the balls moving against it on the back side. This bothers my Type A personality, but my child doesn't seem to mind.
I'd buy this again, but wait until a kid was 2 or older for sure. I am excited to use this for more counting activities and as she can manage the size/weight of it better.
My daughter likes this puzzle (2.5 years old), my niece likes this puzzle (10 years old), and I like this puzzle (*cough* years old). This is not only great for Occupational Therapy but also for counting, animal identification, number identification, and problem solving skills! Awesome toy!!
