Works well for younger kids!

I found these while trying to get some more travel toys or things to distract my 2 year old when I was taking care of a newborn. These seem to fit the bill. They say age 3+ but he understands how to use them at 2 and no choking hazard so I think under 3 is fine. Like other reviewers said the cardboard can warp.. and on one page he managed to scratch off the "magic" coating , kind of a bummer since hes only played with this one maybe 4 times. But oh well... overall I think it's a good value for the price

We use it at restaurants and next to the phone it's one of the few things that keeps her seated and behaving. There are multiple pages and she just keeps coloring away. We've also used it on long car trips and it worked so well! So easy to fill the pen back up when the water is used up. The pen holds a good bit of water. I typically just refill it after 3-4 uses.
Also, I can screw the cap tight enough that my toddler does not open it. (I would never show them the water aspect)
Cons:
1. I wish the pen holds itself better in the package. If i throw it in my diaper bag sometimes the pen does fall out. But no big deal.
2. We have noticed that after a few months- roughly 40-50 uses the pen will get blocked and water doesn't go through. Also, the most used page will get scratched and not work as well. We still manage to make our older book work by wetting the pen in water. For the price we do not expect this to last forever- so this is understandable.
Overall great product for the price. Could not be more pleased!

I have an old one of these Water Wows and it was great! I got this 3 pack and the white part immediately started to scratch off revealing the picture below. And they have barely been used. At this rate I'm worried how long they will last.

This is a great fun toy for kids that like to color on things - like coloring books, your walls, etc. But, saves you the hassle of having to stop them from coloring on things they shouldn't with markers / crayons / etc.
This makes a good travel toy, as it's small enough to go in a diaper bag too.
As I pictured, you just flip the pages, and you color with a little included water brush (you fill it with water, and refill when empty). Once you color the page with a little water, the picture appears. It dries out pretty quickly, probably 30 minutes and you can color the pages again with the water pen and see the pictures again. Seems to be re-usable again and again, and it's great that you have a coloring book . So, it's coloring, but in "Clean" way with a non-destructive water pen that is hard to destroy anything with!
This is an easy 5 stars, give it a try. Good gift item as well, as you don't see these ones often, it's unique in my opinion.... wouldn't be giving the same gift as others =]
We bought the 3-pack, kept one for ourselves, and gave 2 as gifts.

The problem is that after one day, the "paper" is pretty much destroyed as my daughter isn't very familiar with the concept of using brushes. We've mainly used pens, markers, pencil crayons, and crayons and each of these require force to impart onto paper.
I noticed this the first night I gave it to her, I was telling her that she didn't need write so hard on the books and tried to show her. Unfortunately, I didn't share this information with the grandparents, so they didn't know either. As a result, the "paper" is completely shredded from where the plastic on the water pen scratches the paper. (See photos.)
Fortunately, one book might still be salvageable. These were meant to be taken out on the road (restaurants, relatives, etc.) so we still kind of have one.
Very impressive that first day. However, after that, not exactly kid friendly.
