Overall I'm happy with the purchase but I do wish the colors were more intense.
These are okay. I do like the shape and that they don't roll off of the table. That's actually really nice. I can't stand having to constantly pick up crayons. The case is very nice and my two year old can't open it which I actually like. She has to ask me to open them. I normally keep them out of reach but when we do finish using them I sometimes put them aside, while we focus on a new task, and if I have to leave the room for a second, I don't have to worry that I'm going to return to a mess of crayons thrown around. They don't have wrappers so less of a bother to sharpen. They do seem sturdy but not as much as jumbo crayons. We haven't had one break yet but my daughter doesn't press hard at all. I actually have the problem where she is too light with her strokes. But she did play with them as drumsticks and banged them a little.... No breaks. They are also inexpensive. That being said there are some drawbacks. They aren't very bright like crayolas. I don't know if it's so much a lack of pigment or the type of wax used. They are made to feel a little stronger than regular crayons and that might affect how easily they deposit color on the page. Also, the color selection is a little odd. There's a pink and lavender, sort of a light blue with a tinge of green in it, but there's not light green. So basically, a light version off the primary and most secondary colors except one. There's two identical browns and two greens...one is a little bluer than the other. There's a brassy color. I can't call it gold because it's too red but no silver. The lightest pink barely registers on paper but the darker one is lighter than it looks and really is pink. You do really need to use the crayons to see how they color because it's not always how they look. Next two the purples in my pic are two colors that look black but one is navy and the other a dark green. There are some nice colors that are important to have like peach for skin tone, or gray for rocks or metal. My daughter and I draw things she knows like parks, popular cartoon characters, people, etc. So those color are nice.Overall I'm happy with the purchase but I do wish the colors were more intense.
I bought the triangular crayons for my two oldest children (ages 4 and 3) for an airplane trip. I wanted them to be entertained and didn't want to have to worry about the crayons rolling off the of the seat back trays. These crayons worked perfectly for this purpose. An unexpected benefit is the carrying case which is hard and doesn't get smashed in carry-on luggage and holds the crayons so they are easy to see and grab. The case could sit between the two boys and they could each get the crayons they wanted and then put them back. Even though some fairly rough turbulence the crayons didn't roll.
They are regular size crayons that are triangle shaped. The colors are bright and bold and appealing to my kids. When they color/draw, the color is just as bright on the paper as the crayon. I've had crayons that look pretty but on the paper are dull. That is not the case with these crayons. They withstand the abuse that preschoolers heap on crayons with no problems.
The other unexpected benefit is that our 1-year-old loves them. These crayons are much easier for her to hold than the other crayons, including jumbo, that are made for the little kids. We have many kinds of crayons at home and every time she draws, she chooses these over the others. We even have jumbo triangular crayons and she prefers to use these instead of the bigger ones. So, except for when we are traveling, these are her crayons.
All in all, a great product that I highly recommend, especially if you are traveling.
When these crayons first arrived, I thought to myself they were too pretty to use! It was housed in this pretty case and the crayons look so shiny and smooth and had a very cool triangular shape. We almost left them in there because it was so difficult to open the plastic lid the first time! I could not open the lid and it made my fingers all red from trying to snap it open. My husband eventually got it open for me, but he had some trouble as well. After opening it a few times, it got looser and it was eventually fine. The crayons are very nice and draws very nicely. My boy loves using them. These crayons seems like they're better quality than the regular round-crayola ones. It draws smoother and doesn't leave as much "white" space when you color with these as opposed to the crayola brand. The case it's in is very nice because it's so easy to take them in and out and to see all the colors. I don't like buying crayons in a square box where they are sitting upright because you have to dig your fingers in to pull them out. This case is great and the crayons are great.
These are great for budding artists. My daughter is four. These are easy for her to hold, and a good size to practice good writing grip. They do not break like cheap crayons do, and they last well. I think they are made out of something else than just wax and color. The case is very nice, and encourages her to keep them organized. They look very special. She cannot get it open herself, which is a mixed blessing.
The reason this is not a 5 star rating is that several of the colors come out very light, due to whatever the crayons are made out of. This doesn't seem to bother her, but I find it annoying.
Overall, we like these. We have the princess colors, and the fatter crayons from Melissa and Doug, too. and they are all good. This has a good variety of colors.
Bought these so they wouldn't roll around everywhere on a trip. Great case to carry it around in a bag. The crayons have a good variety of colors, and no paper wrapping on the crayons makes it so much easier to use for little hands. The crayons are good, but you do have to press a bit harder to get color. Tends to be a little light. My 2 and 3.5 year old kids were able to easily use these. The case is sturdy and latches well.
I cannot say enough how much I love these crayons. My girls love to color, and we are constantly going through packs of crayons. All other crayons broke after a short time, or the paper kept getting in the way. Some reasons why we love these crayons: 1- We've used them heavily for a few weeks now and they did not break. This is with not not-so-gentle handling of 4 and 2 yr old 2- The unique shape means they do not roll away while coloring. They stay in one place 3- No paper to peel back 4- Convenient case makes it easy for the kids to pack away
Se acaban rompiendo, por el uso que le dan los peques, pero son cómodas para sus manitas, pintan bien, y los colores son bonitos, incluyendo algún color metalizado que a ellos les encanta.
