The 20-inch height is ideal for little builders. View larger.
The workbench looks like a miniature version of the one you might already have in your garage or basement workshop. At 20 inches in height, the flat, sturdy, spacious bench is designed for kids to comfortably stand and work.
A storage tray across the bottom holds projects in place. A hammer, saw, sawing board, wrench, screwdriver, vise, and assorted hardware for building are included, so kids can imitate their parents and develop important problem solving skills.
Ideal for Parent-Child Projects
The Wooden Project Workbench includes blueprints for a robot and an assortment of vehicles, so you and your little carpenter can learn to build together. While the bench, tools, and hardware are suitable for kids, the plans for the additional projects will require parental assistance to complete.
Pre-Sanded, Pre-Drilled, Easy-to-Assemble Pieces
The Wooden Project Workbench features pre-sanded and pre-drilled components with rounded corners. When fully assembled, it will provide a sturdy, safe workbench that will last for years.
While the instructions are easy to follow and all the hardware you need is included, the bench will take a commitment by Mom or Dad to assemble. This bench is designed for years of use, so you'll need to budget a few hours for assembly before letting your child swing away.

My son and I enjoy building things using the diagrams, however we have to take each figure apart before we build a new car/robot/etc. Would be nice to have enough pieces to build multiple cars/robots/etc.
If you review the one star reviews here you may notice that most bad reviews come near the Christmas season - you may assume that manufacturing gets rushed during the Holidays to meet demand and decide to buy early. Or assume that those other reviewers simply don't know a screwdriver from a nail. That's what we did - we bought this in August and trusted the five star reviewers. We are now the owners of a poorly made kit.
Workarounds for parents with sad kids on Christmas (my daughter wanted to "engineer"):
Parts "L", "M", and "N" (across the top) did not line up with the pre-made holes (The holes were about two inches too wide on the top planks). I was able to work around this for parts "L" and "M" by simply moving one part "I" to the opposite side of parts of "F", "G", and "J" as shown in the instructions. But this workaround is not possible with part "N" - so "N" can only be adjusted with nails or power tools if you have them available. However, parts "O" and "P" (located as diagonals on the back of the bench) did not fit at all, and there is no reasonable workaround absent using power tools. However parts "O" and "P" appear to be mainly aesthetic rather than structural and can be left out.
If you are going to buy the toy anyways despite the poor reviews- Assemble before gifting!Read more ›

I wasn't thrilled with this buy. The projects were too old for my 3 year old. I should have gotten a plastic set. This would be better for older children.Published 3 months ago by Hayley
I bought this workbench as a Christmas gift for my son who is about 3 1/2. It did take a little time to put together (hour and a half maybe), but that was expected. Read morePublished 3 months ago by tarheelfan
I wondered if my 3 year old son would prefer a drill that turns, an LED, and other typical features associated with a blow molded workbench. Read morePublished 4 months ago by Daniel
