About Melissa M. Arnold
The motivation behind the “The BrainFlex” System:
I lost my father way too early in my life, and it was primarily due to a lack of information and knowledge on the part of myself and our family. When my father passed away, I kept hearing myself say, "I thought I had more time." After this tragic event, I made it my mission to seek out ways in which I could educate families, and in doing so, possibly give seniors more time. Throughout my research, I discovered the many ways in which seniors can prevent or deter age-related diseases and slow down memory decline. Research consistently revealed the key players in the fight against these diseases, including those that cause dementia. These important components include brain stimulating activities, (for both left & right brain), social connections, nutrition education, exercise, and meditation/prayer, (w/self-affirmations to help maintain a positive mindset). (Sleep plays a vital role as well, which we discuss often.) Each workbook is over 170 pages, focused on these components, (and more). The easy to follow program was developed live, over a period of 5 years, by BrainFlex Wellness Club in Orlando, FL., with seniors participating on site. This has given BrainFlex an advantage over all other brain training programs and workbooks as feedback from our members and their families has provided us with the opportunity to tweak, mold, and adjust our material to ensure its effectiveness. Other differences between the BrainFlex System and other brain training options is the 'whole person' approach we embrace. (see book description) In addition, the answer sheets that follow each lesson includes detailed answers, explaining the thought process used. (when applicable.)
My end goal is to equip seniors to age well, allowing them to live longer (and healthier), lives. To accomplish this would mean I have given them (and their families), the most precious gift I could ever give... 'more time'.
