This was the first of three solo albums from this great Austrian musician that were released in the late nineties. This one was my only missing piece to complete the trio in my collection. His fluid guitar playing and sense of melody are incredible. He also plays keyboards and a few other instruments. The only reason that I did not give it 5 stars was that his following two albums got even better, which are The Pyromantic Symphony followed by Auramony.

After these three solo albums, he formed the progressive metal band Edenbridge with his girlfriend. In my opinion, this band is an utter waste of his talent and they sound like a Nightwish wannabe. However, I can't blame him for wanting to be in a band that brings in the money. At least I have his three solo albums to enjoy forever.

This is the re-release of Lanvall's first solo album. It's remastered, with new cover, new booklet and extensive liner notes by Lanvall.
This album contain 11 songs. Its a mix of instrumental rock, orchestral, classical, and new age.The main difference between Lanvall and many other "instrumental rock" artists is,in my opinion the melody.Where many other guitarist tend to "show off" by playing the most ear twisting sweep licks, diminished & hamonic minor scale run..etc..
Lanvall has composed some really beautiful, powerful & heart touching melody lines. The feel & expressions put into this. Its amazing. Its an album you can listen to over and over again and still find it new and interesting.
I highly recommend it.
