I read this one straight through, in just a little over 3 hours. At 38,000 words it's a long novella – one of my favorite length books simply because I can usually sit and devour that length book in an evening.
The blurb is a long one with great detail about the story so give it a read. I loved all of the main characters in the book. I truly felt the connection between Joel and Isaiah. While their attraction to each other happened quickly, this was definitely more of a slow-burn romance with not a lot of explicit sexy time. While I absolutely appreciate a hot, sexy story I also enjoy reading ones that leave more to the imagination. Since Joel is recovering from a serious illness, going slowly made perfect sense for this one.
Several secondary characters were introduced but I can't guess who the next book will be about. A.M. has announced her intention to release the next two books quickly so I won't have long to find out.
One final note. Joel's ex is one of two bad guys in the story. I almost always love to see a bad guy get redeemed. I think it would be interesting for him to get a story! 😊

This author is new to me, and I enjoy finding good, new authors to read.
Melting For You is a sweet, quick read. There are weightier issues that occurred before meeting these characters, but those issues don't overshadow the sweetness or spiciness of the relationship between Isaiah and Joel. They give the book more depth without being the focus.
I like the premise, and there is a nice flow from scene to scene. The secondary characters are well placed and give the reader an idea of how others see the main characters.
The glimpse into the food truck industry is, and the information gleaned from the story seems feasible.
While the physical side of the relationship began quickly, I appreciate the author taking more time to have them get to know each other better before falling in love.
The passion between these men is powerful, and the HEA is believable and satisfying.
I look forward to more from this author.
The writing flowed beautifully and the characters were nicely drawn and well developed. Isaiah and Joel find their connection and i love how they set their pace and talked through their concerns and fears. I just really enjoyed these guys together from their banter to their steamy connections.
This is the first book in the Neighborhood Shindig series and i am so looking forward to the next book. We had some really good supporting characters introduced in this first book and there are several that i would love to learn more about.
Isaiah is home to care for his father. Answering a call from a frantic Joel, whose gate code isn't working.
The pair meet, each attracted to the other. Isaiah and Joel coming up with a concept for the food truck.
Along the way we meet the owners of the other food trucks.
Their romance sweet. Their feelings of attraction growing into love. I liked both men. Each openly displaying their strengths and weaknesses.
I really enjoyed this book and I'm intrigued to see who is next and to get to know the other food truck vendors at Shindig. I like the series concept and if the other books are anything like this one then I'm going to be super happy.
