We cannot escape the consequences of our actions. After reading this book, I am more acutely aware of the moral legacy I want to leave behind.
By using her past readings and understandings in the Bible, she creates an engaging environment for her followers. However, things do not all go as planned. Soon the attention and fame she receives become too much, and a few of her followers betray her. Doubt crosses her mind, and she begins to question the path she has taken.
Acceptance is all MiMi desires, and in the world, she has created that seems to be a struggle. I particularly enjoyed the fact that the protagonist was a woman. It was refreshing to read and sense a women’s perspective and point of view in her journey being a messenger.
The author demonstrates the true form of double standards and how sexuality makes a difference to the purpose at hand. I believe anyone interested in religion and feminism would particularly enjoy this book.

i could not put this book down, it was compelling and i can't wait for pamela's next novel! Poppy J
The story raises lots of issues around identity and belonging especially women's role in religion and society. It's the kind of book that you want others to read so you can talk about it- perfect for book club. It was a real page turner and the story stayed with me for days.
