About the Author
Born and raised in Louisville, KY, PT Rothschild is a graduate of Louisville Male High School, alma mater to Hunter S. Thompson, and was known as ‘Pete’ in those days. Moving to Indianapolis, IN to take an Industrial Engineering job, PT first became aware of his flair for words through the constructive criticism of his boss who wanted a more straight forward approach to the tech reports issued by PT. Later after moving to Iowa and seeking a degree in Mass Communications, PT started to understand the essentials needed to compose and present a story, an idea inside a story, and a theme as a story direction. Before getting a degree, PT worked on two campus movies, a documentary and a spoof, was a DJ on the radio station, and wrote a regular column in the college paper, scoring a ‘Who’s Who’ in his senior year. Returning to Louisville when his mother succumbed to cancer a few years later, and having the luxury to pursue a ‘fun’ job based on interest rather than an hourly rate, PT answered an ad in a local underground tabloid paper looking for a staff writer. For the next year PT learned how to edit, read for content, page layout, and print font styling from an innovative young publisher and artist named William C. ‘Bucky’ Montgomery. Also this was a time for PT to learn the subtle art of satirical zingers. However, the creative juices had to be bottled when PT returned to Iowa and a more ‘typical’ life resumed in the real world. In 1994, when the last marriage dissolved (his third) PT decided to come to Southern California and uncork the muse bottle. In the first six months living in So Cali, PT had a short story and a children’s illustrated book manuscript done, alluding to the creative vibe of the west coast. After two full length books were written, Eden Is Burning and Mr. Pete & Mary Jane, the original 20 chapters, PT was approached by Full Value Entertainment in 2003 to write for their start-up online publication, Full Value Review, now Temecula Calendar, http://temcal.com. Over the years since PT has covered breaking stories, music news, festivals, and written commentaries covering a wide range of topics, from political to religious, in an effort to polish and hone his writing skills as a composer and as a story teller. What you are about to read is the fruit of all that labor. As is said in Hollywood, PT has paid his dues, these memoirs are the reward.
