When she arrives she heads straight for the garage. This is where she meets Woody Brandt.
First read for me by this author, I must say that I thought that when I started this I wasn't going to like it. But the further I got into it, the more I became engrossed. I liked the characters, and the plot has some drama and tension as well as romance. If I have a complaint it's that this needed to be a bit better developed and longer.

The best part about letting go of what was troubling her was finding Woody in a small town no GPS could find. Woody and his brother were protecting Alyssa’s friend from the man determined to control her. The journey that Alyssa takes from here is one unexpected and liberating beyond words. Never thinking to find love again or hoping for a life free of survivor guilt when she finally takes off her wedding ring it is with embracing the past not forgetting about it.
There is a danger still surrounding them but with Woody holding her hand and embracing all her demons no one is going to hurt her ever again.
Alyssa has come to the aid of her childhood friend, Clara, whose life has been turned upside down by a stalker. In the process, she meets Woody Brandt, brother of the man her friend Clara has fallen for. Alyssa is a widow and has never gotten over the death of her husband in an auto crash. Woody falls hard for Alyssa and hopes to free her from her past and bring her into the future, a future with him.
Book 2 continues the adventure of freeing Clara from her tormentor. Alyssa and Woody are likable characters, creating their own drama and slaying their own dragons along the way. Well written, with a minimum of typing and grammatical errors, "Mending Hope" is another good short read.
