I have been a university lecturer, a complementary therapist and an entrepreneur over the years. But throughout that time, I’ve had a love of books and writing.
I’m now in my seventies – I’m fit, strong and healthy. That didn’t happen by accident. In my twenties I drank heavily (a quarter of a bottle of whisky a day) and smoked around 40 cigarettes a day. My diet consisted of toast, chocolate and orange juice. I learnt bit by bit how to change that and become happier and healthier.
I believe that small changes can have big impact on our lives. I believe in offering practical information that you can apply in your life.
As well as “190 Weight Loss Hacks”, I’ve also written other books that are suitable for kinesiologists and dowsers.

Brennan 's reading and voice is a pleasure to listen to but I will be purchasing a hard copy book because this is a tool that I will come back to again and again when my motivation needs tweaking.
Once again Jane has written a book, this time for menopausal women and weight loss that gives a scientific background. In addition to practical information and ideas about the different aspects of menopause, she writes about how we can actually help ourselves through the process, in order to alleviate symptoms and be our best selves during challenging times and feelings.
This is a different kind of book written by someone who has researched carefully and shared her findings with us in an easy-to-read book!
Some of the suggestions in the book may go against things you read elsewhere, but that's fine with me. I wouldn't need the book if I could find the information elsewhere. Lots of great leads to other sources, which is probably why it's taking me a while to finish the book.

Lots of references throughout the book which made some parts of it quite boring.
Lots of studies referenced but again nothing to help you move forward, not impressed, in fact the first bit saying you haven’t gained weight because of the menopause just peed me off!!!

Otherwise, the information shared was interesting, offered different perspectives and was helpful, especially to those of us recent cancer survivors who are navigating the “forced menopause” we find ourselves in following long stints of chemotherapy. I now feel that I have a better plan of how to manage this experience and that I’m at least doing the right things to improve my health and my ongoing recovery.
