Menstrual Man

Most men squirm at the mention of women's periods. And then there's Muruganantham, an illiterate school dropout. After discovering his wife's rudimentary means of managing her period, he went on a quest to provide low cost sanitary towels to rural Indian women. At first he was labelled a pervert and shunned. Now he is hailed as a visionary. An inspiring and extraordinary story of an unlikely hero.

this is amazing. this simple man goes out of his way to solve a problem that he saw in his community. despite being ostracized by his family and community, he did not give up his goal of inventing low-cost sanitary napkins for all women. I was so inspired by his vision. he wants to provide sanitary pads to women and give them a job at the same time empowering them in multiple ways. truly inspiring story about a important issue

I hope the rest of the world catches on. And people stop using menstruation as a reason to 'shun' women.
