I just purchased a '83 300D as a project car, and ordered both the Chiltons manual and the Haynes. This one arrived first, and I tried to look up information on the power window wiring. Shockingly, every schematic, every diagram was written like power windows don't exist. There wasn'twasn't even a single reference to power windows in the index. Luckily, the Haynes manual arrived a week later, and it had abundant information on the window systems.
I haven't found anything in this Chilton's manual that wasn't better in the Haynes. (I'm no fan boy. I've ordered both manuals for most cars I have owned. It alternates per vehicle which one turns out to be better.) For the W123, save your money and just buy the Haynes. This one is low point in the Chiltons line.
