Care and handling of Millennia cutlery.
The performance of a knife can be diminished if not cared for properly.
Cutlery should never be washed in a dishwasher because intense heat and harsh detergents may cause the handle to deteriorate. Carefully wash by hand with soap and warm water, rinse and dry with a soft towel. Do not soak or submerge in water for long periods of time or use chlorine bleach because it can pit and discolor the blade. Avoid soaking in aluminum or stainless steel sinks because these metals may cause pitting on the blade.
Store in a cutlery block or sheath to preserve the cutting edges and prevent injuries.

I would say the knife to compare this knife to is the Victorinox Swiss classic four inch paring knife which costs even a few bucks less than this one. I sent back the Victorinox because it was not as sharp as this one and vary dainty and cheap feeling and did not have a comfortable handle like this one and that is going to be a matter of taste for you. Victorinox stamped series are great and widely respected but I think the Mercer knives are designed to out perform them in a real working kitchen and they were going after the stamped Victorinox series as their main competitor. Mercer is not well known at all outside the cooking industry, but I don't think it's going to take long for people to catch on that for 22 bucks they van have a Chef knife that cuts as good as a Shun and for 12 bucks they can have a paring knife that beats everything in terms of function in it's category in my opinion. For 38 bucks you have all the knives you will ever need in your life...or maybe you will just keep these in a drawer and keep the Wurstoff's on the wall magnet when foodies come over...
